Terrifying Wraith

I want a VC book to read, but dont know where to start. It doesn't have to be VC exclusively, anything involving necromancers (Anything regarding Nagash would be great). With that in mind, whats the best VC book to start with?

The Natasha books would be the obvious choice.
Otherwise the vampire wars trilogy or the genevieve trilogy.

Natasha?
I assume the first Nagash book would be "Rise of Nagash", right?

Probably the Vampire Wars by Steven Savile, it tells the tale of all 3 major von Carsteins, both their rise and their fall.
Since the von Carsteins, in universe, are the reason vampires are one of the biggest threat to the Empire, it is well worth the read.

If you are a TRUE fluff-monger for the VC and really want their whole story, start with the Nagash Trilogy.
It covers Nagash and his start as High Priest of the Mortuary cult and brother to the King of Khemri, to his first stab at immortality, to his successors...the ruling vampire-lords of Lahmia. (Who really were trying to do something good!)
Then it details their discovery of Nagash and his war with the Skaven.
From there, I'd move on to either books specific to the Carsteins, or the Nagash vs the Empire books.

I'd think a good place to go from there is anything involving the Lahmians, as they where chronologically next.

i really enjoyed the Nagash trilogy, especially the first two...
the pre-Warhammer World history was so cool to read, and who doesn't love some Egyptian style action...
i liked Neferata a lot, too...
as it is basically a fourth book in the chronology of the Nagash history, i would read the others first...
after that, pretty much all the BL Vampire novels are good reads...
cheers

If you want to know and understand their full history
Read the excellent Nagash and Blood of Nagash series - they are really great reads and the Neferata story is a personal favourite.
Ulrika the Vampire is very good and shows Vampires in "modern day" Empire
Drachenfels is equally good and whilst a little bit earlier also has "modern" Vampires. The other books in the series are not as good tbh but still enjoyable.

Some of the lore/source books for some of the other GW systems are a great guide too. For instance if you can get your hands on some of the background campaign books for WFB Roleplay dealing with vamps they can be good. Night's Dark Masters is also a good background book for VC.
