My friends and I are playing a map-based escalation campaign. We are starting at 250pts and moving up 250pts per month until we reach 2000pts.

I have played my 3 games for the month. I faced Empire, Dwarfs, and Dark Elves and have gotten wrecked each time. Well, the game against the Empire was close but an untimely squabble on the final turn pushed things into the favor of the Empire.

What can I do to have a better chance at success in the future? I'd like to keep it based around night goblins because I love them and because the warlord of my final 2000pt army will be Skarsnik.

This is what I started with:

1 night goblin warboss w great weapon, light armour, and talisman of preservation

20 night goblins with spears

13 night goblins with short bows

5 black orcs

I appreciate any help or insight you can off me!

Forgive me now! Tomorrow I may no longer feel guilty...

A few things:

- Goblins of all sorts are all about "killer chaff" and lots of shooting. Mangler Squigs, Pump Wagons, Wolf Chariots, and Fanatics coupled with Spear Chukkas, Rock Lobbers, Doomdivers and tons of shortbows create a minefield of stuff for your opponent to wade through.

- Netters are awesome.

- for your General, I would strongly recommend a regular Goblin Warboss. 5pts for +1I and -1Ld is just not worth it.

- super-small point values are hard for horde armies, because we can't field all the components of a good list in the numbers we need.

- I assume minimum unit size doesn't apply for this game?

250pts? I'd try...this:

1 Night Goblin Shaman (50pts)

20 Night Goblins + shortbows + musician + 1 Fanatic (95)
15 Night Goblins + shortbows + musician (55)

1 Wolf Chariot (50)

Thanks for the input. Unfortunately I cannot change my initial list per rules of the campaign. We build up to 500 points this for July so I will add the shaman, musicians, and build up my unit that has the short bows. I was planning on adding fanatics for July as well so I will stick with that plan.

Hopefully I will take some people with me as I perish in July!

Forgive me now! Tomorrow I may no longer feel guilty...
