Yeah, it's like the drop-down missile bay on the old Barracuda. Slide it backwards to unlock it and then the whole section drops down.

Interesting. Will have to check that out. Thank you. Here's hoping that the new Tiger Shark does the same thing.

I wonder.. if they'll finally allow you to use that voucher during checkout, instead of having to give them a ring.

Or was this already implemented last year?

Using vouchers on digital orders is still Tech-heresy as far as I know.

The only technology sanctioned to be used in conjunction with the vouchers are telephones and fax-machines.

They allowed you to enter it last year. However, beware, if you enter the code before logging in, it'll mark the code as used and expire it! I fell for it and had to contact Forgeworld. Enter only when you are truly ready, logged in and want to order. Tricksy system...

Why is the macrocarid cheaper than the Triaros? I thought that it was basically a reskinned land raider, and the Tiraros was the smaller of the two transport options.

I don't know, and i'm not going to tempt them to raise the price again by complaining!

It has irked me a bit to see the triaros go from £88 to £92 while i waited for the macrocarid.

I still bought one, and a vultarax to go with the macrocarid.

You're really going to complain over a £2 difference on £90 models? And from what I've seen the Triaris is a bigger model, or at least longer.

Post pics of your Vultarax when you build it, SirDonlad! Also, I had been reading your name as "Sir Donald" before typing it just now... bit of a different context if it were that these days

The Triarios is a larger transport- it has a transport capacity of 20. The Macrocarid Explorator has a capacity equivalent to a Land Raider.

Yeah, I just don't like that the arms are Mk VII. I am going to pick up a bunch on Shapeways shields so I can still use the Mk III arms. I can put etched brass emblems on the plain shields(the ones with a cross will be for the Sergeants). Much better price. Unless I can figure out a way to get the arms in position so the boltgun can go through the gunport, they probably won't be holding the shield in front of them though.

Fair enough. When I assembled some myself the difference was almost undetectable on the actual model (the main aesthetic differences between the two armour marks on the arm are almost entirely obscured by the shield and shoulder pad). Have you got a link to the Shapeways shields though? They sound intriguing.

Sometimes if you just call them to place the order they will give you free expedited shipping despite the amount spent. I have had great luck when phoning in orders.

Sorry if this is obvious, but given your US flag how are you calling in orders? Does the cost of the call not offset the savings?

1 Inch thinner, and IIRC, 1.5 inches longer.
Serves as amply proxy for a Macrocarid anyway, if you cba to buy a Landraider.

Aren't expensive international calls a thing of the past?

edit: Looked it up and no, it's still expensive as don't bypass the language barrier like this. Reds8n Well that's unfortunate.

These last two replies cracked me up

Everything's so connected now that it makes sense to assume this kind of thing will be easy to do cheaply in the future - for now I think you could do it with Skype or the like?

I just realized that FW sneakily decided what a graviton imploder looks like - it's waaaay too big to be carried by a myrmidon destructor!!
It's supplied with the new Macrocarid..

Sigh I recently bought a Tigershark, specifically because the Barracuda disappeared but before the remakes where revealed. The entire body is somewhat warped so the cockpit doesnt really fit making assembly a hassle (which forgeworld usually already is) so I might get the new one as well, it does look good.

This Free Shipping Voucher seems poorly thought out. I can either

-spend £75 and pay for shipping to gain free next month or
-spend £250, get free express shipping and gain free postage next month.

First option means paying for shipping once anyway. I have never payed for shipping with FW and never intend to do so . Second option means spending a lot, leaving me no need to place another order next month.

(Who am I kidding? It's Christmas time and I end up choosing the second option anyway. It's a trap indeed.)

That place is the harsh dark future far left with only war left.

This assumes that you're going to buy a £250 order in the near future. If you buy a £100 thing this month and a £50 thing in 2017 you're only spending £150 total, but you got free shipping on part of it. It's not the biggest discount ever, but you're still potentially saving money unless you're always making £250 orders.
