Moore, Ok.

hello. whether it's the 2 metal crewmen that come with it,or if you make your own, does it have to have them? are they part of the model, and required? thanks.

Odd, mine came with all plastic crew. But I've never seen anything that requires you to model the vehicle crews separately at all.

No they don't have to be on the tank. They serve only one purpose and that is to help make it look active. You can leave them off if you want.

My bassy that I got 7-8 years ago came with metal ones. I think I still have them around somewhere.

I'm only a 4-5 year into the hobby newbie still. The one I bought a few months ago came with the new vehicle sprue and the figure sprue from the Cadian heavy weapon sets.

Until vehicle dedicated crew are allowed to disembark and act independently of their vehicles (which would be pretty cool IMO), the only purpose they serve is decorative.

Heck, you can replace them with a pair Carnifexes if you want...

@Hans: Yeah I meant to bring it up in your modeling thread, but the last two basi's I bought (the new boxes) had the tank accessory sprue but not the heavy weap sprue. I was pretty jealous when I saw that picture on your site! I don't know if you got lucky with an extra sprue or if I just got ripped off, but I haven't heard of anyone else getting the heavy wep team sprue with their tank.

Not so cool - it was a rule in 2nd ed 40K...

That isn't Red Shirt as in under-qualified, under-informed and over-opinionated GW staff...
It isn't Red Shirt as in Manchester United...

It was a rule in 3rd edition too.. Guard could eject,  still can with Imperial Armour.  Crisis suit commanders can also eject from their suits and act as a person.
