What do you think was the turning point in the game? I can think of a few main ones, but this game really highlighted a few things in tournament play. Watch the vid, let me know what they were!

Wow awesome table and great looking armies.

That mission is terrible though, way too punishing for some armies and not against others. I also have no idea how it would work with drop pods.

Despite looking boss, I wish that table had a couple taller rock formations as well, could really help BLOS better.

Chin up though, that's a brutal match up anyway. Supposed DE update within the year so who knows.

its not clear from the intro, for setup on a 6 do you get to deploy and the rest are in reserve. Or on a 6 do you have to deploy and you chose to keep the rest on reserves?

I would have tried to hide the first 1-2 turns until you had the bulk out, you did get some kills early on but you pretty much fed him your reavers +farseer almost immediately and then presented non multiple small threats while he just shifted around to kill them with his jetbikes/skimmers. I would have put all my reserves together on the right, and turbo boosted the far jetbike squad back to join up with them, that way your opponent would have to pick to fire on hellions or the reavers/farseer. Also wouldn't have disembarked the kabalites from venom and kept moving up to present another target.

Even still I don't think you had much of a chance, you have a lot of anti infantry that has almost no effect on vehicles, and theres a lot of vehicles on the table to start out. Even AV 10 is tough when most of your guns are poisoned and can't touch them. That and you suffered from reserves while your opponent got the +1/-1 and had more on the table to start out with.

Rough match, the game type seems like it can be either way fun one match and way horrible another match. Still really good to see though! thanks

The missions are very varied at this tournament! The army I played against went to win Best Sportsmanship! So cudos to Matt for making it so far and playing 6 games over two games and holding his own against some tough opposition.
