Hi guys,
In September I will be attending my first cash prize tournament. I've been in tournaments run by my local gw, but those don't seem to have a competitive edge to them and they provide no prizes. So I was wondering what to look out for as a first timer and also what the proper edicate is for these events. Thanks for any input.

-They shall be my finest Ultrasmurfs. Built and painted so that they may wreck the faces of those that oppose them!
-My young pupil... you seem to have this unholy addiction to Ultramarines. WE MUST TEST YOU FOR HERESY. -Inquisitor mean man
Ultramarine army- 10k
Imperial knights- 2
Vampire counts- 2k
Eternity King- 3k

Know your army inside and out. Practice up so you can play fast. Don't be a jerk, in the end you're all there to have fun. A big tourney will have many good players... don't be upset or surprised when somebody takes you to the cleaners.

I like hotsauceman's list.

I will add in seriousness,

1. ask to see codexes for rules that are new to you. Players should be okay to show you.

2. Read and re-read the missions, and be sure to have adequate objective markers that fit the missions, especially as Maelstrom missions have 6. I painted dots on the side of blank 25mm bases for simplicity.

3. Scout out via google maps or calls to the venue on your lunch options. Take a watch, unless you are really used to using a phone for telling time.

I hope you were serious about the condoms if the tales of your exploits are to be believed...

Don't cheat and if you suspect someone of cheating don't wait until after the game or the next day to mention it.

@Eldarain
Regarding this, I was there. The facility's custodial service was lacking and the men's room ran out of TP during the two days ...
