Finishing up some Dark Angles and want to know what
decal to apply to their shoulders.

(And yes, measuring all those angles without a protractor
required sun, shadow, and some creative mathematics)

nope, an X would denote either the tenth squad in a company or an assault squad. Company markings are not denoted by numbers but by symbols. Unfortunately the marine codex doesn't show an example of a dark angel scout pad and i can't find my dark angel 'dex.

If i remember correctly, dark angel scouts have the chapter symbol on their left pad, and that's it.

As loathe to the idea as some of your fellow Dakkites are, US WD issue 311 had an index astares article on scouts and some of their paint schemes. Dark Angels was one of the ones detailed.

Left pad has the chapter symbol. Right pad has a number. I'm not sure if it's squad number within the 10th company (more likely) or scout number within the squad (less likely). Oh, and of course, pants and cloak are painted in camouflage.

DarkChild is right. Me sorry . In the 3ed Rulebook are some good pictures of DA scouts. No special markings just the chapter symbol and a number in this case a 2 and 4.

Or just watch here
