Heya guys and gals! After much deliberation I have decided to make a P&M blog tracking my slowly increasing Cygnar army. Dont ecpect wonders but do expect Constance Blaize, Gallant, and resin bases (eventually). So far in this army I have 1 charger painted, one lancer painted (except the shield and head) and one charger undercoated. Feel free to comment, anything from "these are alright" to "I love the sword rack in the background" to "you could improve these by..." basically comments, constructive critisism, compliments and jokes are all allowed.
Now with out further ado here is some pics of my painted models

Hey looks like the Lancer is coming along nicely! I can't for the life of me remember the name of the other one (charger?) but it looks solid.

I'd recommend trying for less blurry pictures though

If its shaking hands try putting it on top of a makeshift stand (ie. Books piled, etc.) Unless you really have a stand.

Ill be watching for the glory of Cryx!

Yeah its a charger, and the blurriness is becuase I took the picture while my camera was trying to focus, so its my fault

Heres my other charger! primed and ready, although I dont plan to paint till tomorrow. For this one my plan is to basecoat in P3 Ironhull Grey, then paint the armour Citadels Celestra Grey, the Mechanical bits in Citadels Boltgun Metal, the trim in Citadels Gehenna's Gold, and the grip of the hammer inP3's Rucksack Tan.

I chose this paint scheme as I plan to convert one of the Iron Kingdoms RPG models to be a Journeyman Warcaster, and give them this charger, so I painted it in the Scheme I plan to use for my Precursors and Gallant (when I eventually buy them).

IN other news, just bought a box of sword knights,when they turn up I will build, glue and prime them, and eventually paint them, look forward to it

Their cheapness makes them very useful to have with Constance Blaize, And I plan to include archduke Alain Runewood anyway so even more reason for them

Why did you pick the other paint scheme? To differentiate him from the rest? I like them. From my phone they seem okay. And could they be blurry because of downgrading the quality by dakka?

See I plan to take the cleric of morrow charachter from Iron Kingdoms RPG line, throw on a journeyman Backpack, try and gry a handgun to glue on somewhere and call her a journeyman warcaster, and she will have a cygnar jack painted in the same scheme as all my Morrow units and of course Gallant, so the different scheme is:
A) to test out the scheme for later use on Contance Blaize, Gallant, and Precurosrs.
And B) Because a 'jack painted in the same scheme as my morrow units works when given to a Morrow Journeyman conversion

Ths is the model I plan to use as the base for my journeyman conversion:

Use the macro setting on your camera or prop your hand against a piece of furniture for stability. Or drink less soda/caffeine before taking your pictures. That stuff makes your hands shake. Looks good so far. Have you thought of using an ink wash on your models? GW puts out some great, if a little pricey, inks in many colors. A heavy application can add a lot of detail to your models without much effort.

Urm...I do use them...Well I mainly use Badab Black (if thats what you mean) but I also have Delvin Mud, and four others with names I cant remember, a blue one, a red one, a green one and an orange looking one with sepia in the name...
Guess I dont use them enough huh

But I did state in my update with pics that the last wash didnt go well in my opinion, although looking at it again it makes it look quite dirty, suitable for a war scarred 'Jack

Honestly the only thing I realy think you should try to do is go back and carefully aply a little wash just to the recesses on the grey. Other than that it looks great. Large smooth areas like the grey bits of the torso are notorious for

ing washes but you got it light and even enough it looks like grunge not a problematic wash.

I'm guessing the splotchyness on the body is the problem wash. If you feel like fixing it (not necicary in my opinion) a light drybrush of the grey would smooth it out.

The more I look at it the more I feel the splotchyness makes it look more used and worn, and looks better so I will keep it as is, athough I might give a light wash to the recessess. And I will indeed paint the starburst! How could I forget that!!

Actually, have you washed the metallic parts already? It could be this picture only, because the other pics of this guy seem to have enough contrast going on. It does seem some parts could need some extra wash if you haven't applied it yet. Things like the armpits, gun barrels, fingers, kneecaps and holes in the steamvents could use some shading imho ^^
When are you planning on converting that morrow priest? I always like people trying stuff out ^^

Well...when I have money...I currently have a grand total of £3, and the model costs more then that, so when I have cash I will buy the model stick on the backpack from the female Journeyman warcaster, and if I can find a spare handgun I will attach that. And I have given my Morrow Charger a wash soley on the metallics, once I have glued my Sword Knights I will show you

What sort of conversion could I use this guy for?

I just got that model myself (too bad it's a wee bit too small compared to my other proxies :c)
It comes in 3 pieces, body head and shield. I don't know much about warmachine, but I went trough the gallery, and really nothing else has got robes, do they?
Unless you can think of some fluffy reasons to make a sort of religious warcaster, or just another warcaster in general, I think cygnar has got some sick models as they are? :p

Btw have you possibly got some space marines to make a scale comparison with the blade knights? I'm reading that privateer press should make slightly bigger models than GW, but my irong kingdoms monster hunter and that priest dude seem smaller, is that possible?

The Space marine is a little bit taller then the Sword Knight, but that could just be because of the pose, The Sword Knight seems bulkier to me though.

Any Size difference could be because the model I wanna convert is from the Iron Kingdoms RPG line of models, not the Warmachine line, I dunno maybe.

He does seem less 'heroic' but the same size as the marine. I originally need 40mm models, but I managed downscaling 2 of the 3, so I really need 2mm bigger than marines :c
Guess I should only be using female characters, or really bulky guys.
Didn't see those knights earlier, they could have been a good proxy for me :c

I love the Sword Knight model, I mainly dislike their stats and rules and all that, but they are quite useful in a Morrowan army.

Sory for the lack of updates guys I have been in potsmouth for the victorious festival, I am gonna get home today, have a bath or two, finish glueing my hunter and show everyone what I have been doing when I should have been painting

Well guys, since my last update I have glued my hunter and something else, after dinner I will show you and show you my Morrowan charger, now with added starburst! then some time in the next fortnight (not at home from tomorrow to next friday) I will prime everything and paint my ironclad!!

Did you really lose the heads?
And, I can't really tell from the picture, but it seems that some big surfaces like the shoulders on the left jack are showing some black through the blue. Maybe you should add another layer of blue?

Yes...I really lost the heads...dont judge me!

Also I have repainted both shoulders on each 'Jack so I will post up a pic in a sec, and "black spots" might be from bad lighting, dark paint and dark wash. Still soulcow its a pleasure to see you in my blog dude I LOVE your work

EDIT: On another note I am contemplating painting my Stormnouns using ultramaring blue? or should I keep using the same blue for the same army?
