That knight looks titan sized. Due to the lack of the base.

I want it.
The plastic knight paladin was an update of the old plastic epic version that drew a lot of influence from the warlord titan epic models (which is why the fw warlord now resembles the knight). The crusader ne was already taken for a knight, but this one is the a blend of the metal knight crusader kit with a lot of influences from the 28mm reaver titan.

got my copy of the new issue of WD today, and there's two page spread about Inferno, and the preamble of the article says that it's out this month:

"This month sees the release of the latest highly anticipated volume of Forge World's Horus Heresy series. The Horus Heresy Book VII - Inferno brings the war to Prospero. No matter where your loyalties lie, there's something in this weighty tome for you."

Looks like we're still on schedule for February 2017 then, IIRC.

The WD obviously went to print before FW had to delay the book.

A glimmer of hope, shattered by change.

The last news was that it will come late - like around February or March (though that is just from memory - and I don't really want to go looking into all the old posts again)

It is frustrating for those of us wanting that book - but people are reporting it after most major FW events.

I need one... or two... TWO. Definitely.

I hope we get more Household ranks for 30k, so I don't have to shoehorn this sucker into my already-filled Heavy slots.

Hilariously, I think it will be a solid Knight Aspirant, if they don't change the rules any. Reduced BS and 5+ Ion (on AV14) is worth it to save some points.

Can't. Wait.

Probably they will make them require a Knight Seneschal or similar.

I still want a proper Baron suit; lance and battlecannon on one of the fast suits. Or even better a suit you can totally customise for your boss-man. I reckon sword+board+rockets would be super fun…

Em, wouldn't this be a LoW choice for 30k?

I'm not personally a fan of this configuration, but I think the "chassis" holds a lot of promise (just like I wasn't a huge fan of the early Cerastus knights but love the Atropos).

Nice to have the option for sure

Im with Mr_Rose.
A build your own baron would be ace and allow you to properly kit out the baron to suit your own army.

Im amazed that forgeworld have not been selling knight arms like they do with the larger titans.

However, this new armoured lump is what ive been waiting for.
However, after waiting soo long and seeing its size, im wondering if the £350 i set side will even cover it now.

Only hoping its rules make it of use.

As a stand-alone unit for a Space Marine force or something, sure. We're talking about the Knight List which lets you take Knight suits as every force org. slot though.

I doubt we will see it restricted to ranks. Maybe restricted as a 0-1 type slot. One per army maybe. I can live with that. And yea, I want to see a Praetor-equiv for Knights as you mention. Twin Gatling? Sure! Upgrade to Cerastus Chassis?! +35pt. Add to your Ion save?! Can do! +50!

Would really be nice, imo.

As stated, for some armies yes. But for a Questoris Knight army, it is based on the rank it is given as to where it fits into the FOC. And this thing in the Arbalester (Heavy) slot would be disgusting, but I am leaning towards Scion just for the points savings.

Worst restriction they can put on it is 0-1 per 2000 pts, as with the Atrapos, which is more than fair enough, given the rarity of the pattern.

And yes, this will be my new Arbalester for sure!

But.. but... I have two Styrix so comfy in that slot. Maybe it will be a Lord of War option for a Questoris army! Wouldn't that be amazing! Maybe with a custom Household rank to go with it. Obviously, doubtful... but a new book means new possibilities!

I'd rather not have to buy a new book and just download the rules from their site, thank you very much!

I'm already miffed that my Errant with Thunderstrike gauntlet and my Crusader with rapid-fire battlecannon are not allowed in the Questoris list, so please don't make me buy another book as well.

I want FW to do a Baron Knight too. The way the rules are currently they could just make alternate armor panels and call it a day.

FW seems to want to do more with Knights, but even releasing alternate heads didn't work out the way they originally wanted. We have three alternate Atrapos heads sold on their own or with an Atrapos, but the original idea was to release a mechanicum lancer, castigator, Acheron with those heads along with the Atrapos' armor panels in place of the standard panels. There is a dissonance between the creatives and business people. However I think this indicates a business side interest in approach like selling individual weapons over off-variant Knights.

I would love to see customizable Knights, it'd create some fun opportunities. A Cerastus Knight paladin would be interesting to see.
