Hi all!

As always, work and Magic The Gathering has been getting in the way of my 40k fun, and I reckon it's high time I got back on the wagon again! After weeks deciding what I wanted to do, a root through my Bitz Box has steered me in the direction of my first love, the Chaos gods, more specifically The Young Prince, Slaanesh. Finding a sprue with several unbuilt Sanguinary Guard from a previous project was just the ticket to give me a kick up the butt and get me painting again, and I started by building a Champion for a Raptor squad out of the Bitz. He's WIP at the moment, but it'll give you an idea of the colour scheme I'm going for.

I was mainly looking for a challenge with these minis so I went for something a little more difficult to paint, specifically a white rooted in a pinkish purple that wasn't too much of an off white. I thought this would be simple, but let me tell you, by the time I've finished this army, I'll want to tear my own eyes out.
The shield doesn't do anything, but I added it because I think it looks pretty in a "look at me, I'm special and revered by the Gods" kinda way. This was also my first crack at sponge weathering. I'm pretty happy with it, but I'm aware there is room for improvement. Any tips would be welcome.

Next up was the (as yet unnamed, input welcome as his current name of Captain Rippy doesn't cut it) Chaos Lord who will be accompanying the Raptor squad. Again, WIP. This miniature is probably the most complicated simple conversion ever. Getting the pose right without: 1) him looking like he's falling over, and: 2) him actually falling over, was incredibly unpleasant.

Again, a WIP, but he should be finished in a few days as I have some well deserved time off work.
As always, C&C would be welcome! More soon, Slaanesh Fans!

I like the colours and the character of these guys so far. I'd like to see more of the chaos lord from other angles when he's finished ^^

So it's been a while...

Have an update on the state of these guys. The guy that was the Lord has now become a Raptor Champ with twin Lightning Claws, with the former champ just becoming a regular unit member. This is because of a minor change to the way the army looks, and it's hierarchy. The characters in the force will now have the Possessed wings to show that they are closer to Daemonhood than the rest of the force. I was also brainstorming ideas, and I like the idea of the whole force having helmets and no bare heads, a nameless terror from the warp in the guise of angels, that bring only despair. I also very much like the idea of the chapter being rooted in their Blood Angel roots, so a lot of the blood droplet and wing iconography will stay, but the armour itself will be a tarnished, soiled, weathered mockery of it's former glory, showing that the force has fought countless wars and it's wargear is paying the price.

Okay so first up I have my as yet unnamed Chaos Lord. Armed with a Daemon Weapon (unsure which yet, I'm hoping Blissgiver comes back when Codex: Slaaanesh eventually happens), and a Bolt Pistol. He isn't finished yet, but he's pretty damn close. I'm attempting some freehand on the wings currently, will post pictures tomorrow.

Second up is my also unnamed Sorceror. The intention is for the flames to count as The Burning Brand of Skalathrax, but it can also just be random magical fire I guess. Again, he's unfinished, but about half done. I hope to have him, along with my other four models finished by the weekend.

Now, the first guy I ever posted on this thread IS finished, and should give you all an idea of the scheme and theme I'm going for. Pretty happy with how he turned out. Still need to decide whats goin' on with the bases though. I'm thinking barren grey slate but any suggestions would be welcome.

Finally, this guy is almost done too. Probably my favourite model so far thanks to the unorthadox pose, but I think he looks real savage, and like a very angry young man. He's really hard to take a decent photo of so this will have to do until I work out something better.

As always C&C is welcome and encouraged. Tell me where I'm going wrong or right, and everything will be taken on board! Right now I'm also working on some standard CSMs and a Rhino with hopefully some badass freehand on it.

Cheers guys!
