Hey guys first post here,

I'm currently starting a Tau army and looking to paint it digital camouflage i wondered if anyone has had any success doing this and if so did you use sticky vinyl paper? and if so did it peel any of the paint of underneath?

Give yourself good drying times between layers and you will be fine. De-tacking paper is also not a horrible idea (stick it to a lint free cloth (or your shirt if you're insane) and then use on the model)

I'll second the cure time recommendation. If you're still worried, you can always throw down a thin coat of varnish between colors, for a bit of added insurance. A hard, smooth shell won't do much good if the whole "stack of layers" lifts off the model, though, so make sure that everything is strongly adhered and fully cured, right down to the primer.

From experiance, they dont need much in the way of drying time. When I was doing digi camo, I did vehicles in pairs. By the time I did the other vehicle, the paint was dry on the first and I could go ahead and put the stencils down. I did on one or two occassions peel the paint off, but that was always down to me yanking too hard on the stencils to pull them off.

Also worth noting that the stencils were low tack
