A weekend of games, in a hip hop humoured tournament. Hammer's Pact is there, my CG with "Drop Pods". There were tons of Eldar atleast and a really cool Tau army.

How did he make that daemon prince?

And your warp "pods" look great.

A great thank you for the pics. I went through most of your pics and there are so many great, original models, my head was swimming. Your Crescent Guard army is fantastic. I really loved how you modeled the Land Speeder base and one of your Assault Marines flying. Very original and very cool looking.

Ulthwe seemed to be popular and the very mecha looking Tau were very nice. It's great to see just how much potential one can put into an army. At 1500 points, I can also see how the extra attention can be brought upon each and every model (they looked like 1500 point armies).

The 'warp pods' remind me a bit of Stargate. Very interesting and novel approach for drop pods. They also looked 100% better than most of the 'drink cup' conversions I locally see.

Thanks again for the great photos. Very inspiring.

Edit- Battle Report?

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

yummy, lots of nice pictures...

With the galaxy as large as it is the odds of the average guardsmen seeing and fighting a marine or MEQ are relatively slim. Unfortunately the guardsmen in your (and anyone else who plays IG's) army are the REALLY, REALLY LUCKY ones that fight marines ALL the time...

That Khorne daemon prince is amazing.

And I also thought of Stargate when I saw your "warp" pods.  Very cool idea, and pulled off very effectively.

Great work as always, Migs. I particularly like the blood stains on the Crescent Guard.
Any more pictures of Hammer's LatD stuff? I really like those green-stuff-sculpted demons, and I'd love to see them painted.

edit: Ed, the PBase account, guest folder, includes a very instructive WIP picture of the greater demon as raw material.

Thanks for the pics Migs! Wonderful stuff throughout, and great to see the CGuard and Hammer's Pact in action. Of special note:

Awwww! Wraithlord cuddling the impy fist!

Spore mines for plague marine heads! Brilliant! And possibly stolen!

As to the 'thirster, I remember some WIP shots that showed that the monster is based on some 40k plastic ruins, beads, cold one jaws?, and loads of green stuff. Hammer has another pic on his pbase that you might be able to bitz stuff from ...

Thanks again Migs, and how did your Guard do in the end?

Ummmm... Boss Salvage- I don't think those two are cuddling. It looks more like the kind of cuddling I do with girlfriends in the shower...

I like the gates Migs, but not the Shrike model. The blood doesn't really do it for me. You did a good job with the blood-splatters, but it just makes the marine look to "evil", and while they essentially are quite evil (the imperium is basically the thrid reich), it's confusing when you use such overtly evil imagery on non-chaos-marine models- especially clean white marines! I know you're going for the up-town-summer-in-the-city-back-of-my-neck-gettin'-dirty-and-gritty look with your marines, but I think the huge bloodfest on this guy is too distracting.

I think it would be hard to be the painting judge at these tournaments you go to Migs. So many cool armies to choose from.

Hammer's Blood Pact has TONS of cool, stuff in the works for another tourny, the Helsinki Fanatic in two weeks time. Roughriders, Khorne hounds, Mutants, a stalk tank... Full pictorial after the tournament. The Thirster that is now being converted into a flying Demon Prince, a much better choise gaming wise, is made on top of 40k ruins, with lots of bitz and tons of GS.

We are both tooling up for Medusa V, Crescent Guard and my IG+=I=s vs. his LATD horde.Should be a fun summer of gaming ahead of us.

I didn't do too well gaming wise, finishing 25th out of 60ish. The list is still full of pricey cool stuff and not enough bread and butter. I also faced two 3 WL + Avatar + Seer council + starcannons forever armies that just eat my army alive and had absolutely sad luck in the last 3 games (out of five). I now have 6 games with the pods under my belt and with some re-tooling, 250pts of new stuff and I should be ready for the Fanatic Tourny (1750pts armies).

Hammer was dead last in gaming points and was awarded the 40k PC game for his troubles. He will have to listen to us joking about it for a LOOOONG time.

i simply fell in love with your Crecent Guard Mig' and sure wish that i could play against it one day...
I personally do like your birdie marine but i would say there is a little too-much-busy look to it.
Did you bigga-size your dread' too?
