I was out buying my wedding bands today, and decided that, after going to the GAP, my Fiancee and I would go to barnes and noble.

To my surprise, right in between George RR, and JRR, I found the "Empire Omnibus" Sitting by itself, not another black library book in sight.

I thought to myself "Wha....I've never read this....." and on impulse, bought it.

I couldn't resist the moustache...

Are any of the stories any good?
Was it worth the money?

Let me know
Thanks
Austin

Its been awhile since I read them but I liked these books, and feel its worth the money.

These books came at a time when Black Library seemed like they were releasing a novel for every unit type in the Empire Armybook. Suprisingly they were all pretty good and didn't suffer from the repetitiveness I find in the Space Marine Battles books. And I'm not even an Empire fan, in fact I remember lamenting the abrupt ending of the excellent Bretonnian "Knight" series while the Empire got a book a month about pretty much everything with a unit entry. I ate my words when I enjoyed all of the books for the most part. But still bitter about no true "Grail Knight" novel...

Quick, fun and enjoyable reads.

Edit: I love Chris Wraights work, not a huge fan of Nik Kyme, but Darius Hinks won a David Gemmel award for the Warrior Priest book, may want to check that one first!

I'm now 150 pages into Iron Company.

The author repeats himself a lot... he likes the term impotent rage, he's said it atleast 17 times so far.
The main character is a stock wash-up, with an amiable companion... but so far so good. I'm enjoying it.

I'm a big bretonnian guy, but a glimpse into the empire is nice.

Thanks
