what the title basically says. I'm curious if the measurments are the same or similar enough to use.

I know on the numbers xD I was asking because I've seen bases with similar measurement, but the lip adds to it in a way. I know it sounded like an absolutely stupid question but wasn't sure :x

I think I see his point, it depends on if the 32mm is measured at the top of the base, or the bottom of the base (as it would make a difference).

However I expect the 32mm is the largest diameter, and so is the bottom of the base (where it touches the ground).

A standard PP base is exactly 30mm diameter, including the lip, when you flip it over and measure it. Assuming the new GW base is actually 32mm, the PP base will be 2mm smaller.

I actually think the models on 32mm look better, though not enough to rebase models. It's certainly nice for just future models, although I understand all of the potential problems from a gaming perspective.

OKay thank. That answers my question! Niiru was on the mark with how I Was thinking about it. Guess I will need to buy the 32mm bases from gw then!

Well I'd hold off on going all 32mm. We have no idea what the future holds for basing. So far its only looking like certain marine models (or indeed, all marines) will be on 32mm to help differentiate between smaller gribblies on 25mm.

GW can't and won't enforce using the newer bases, though I imagine some people will gladly use them for models that have a hard time staying upright.

As a Guard player, everything is staying on 25mm. It'd just get ridiculous fielding 100+ infantiers on 32mm bases.

lol, yeah. Some of the bulkier units (like the 32mm jump packs in deathstorm, or standard bearers) just seem to make sense both from a "fluff" perspective (bigger unit, bigger bases), as well as practical perspective (not tipping over). Others, like Cadians and Wyches make no sense to change.

I'm expecting only marines will get the 32mm, and maybe some select units from other codices in the future, but with GW, you can never be sure.

I don't think it will make that much of a deal as long as everyone in the Squad is on the same sized base.
