Hey guys, I am seeking the assistance of the Dakka community in order to locate 2 miniatures for a client. The client has specified that they want a Paladin Minotaur with plate armor, tower shield and war hammer; they also want a female minotaur Cleric / Druid.

I am not averse to doing a little conversion work with greenstuff, but really I need something that I can work with. I have found the odd model here and there but unfortunately they are unavailable for purchase.

Thanks guys!

My gut immediately said that Reaper has something that might fit. There's also Heresy Miniatures and Otherworld Miniatures that are worth a look.

Reaper has this guy. And several others. Search for Minotaur.

And a lady minotaur.

There's also this minotaur head which could be useful for conversions.

Otherworld has this really cool minotaur.

Rackham had a few minotaurs, might be hard to track down and nothing would fit exactly, but they had a fairly chunky armoured minotaur, the 'Archon of the Faathi' - you could probably turn the axe into a hammer and have a shield on the back:

Spoiler:

There was also the Cadwe minotaur maid, but I don't really think it fits your theme as well.

Spoiler:

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

There's also this fella from Mierce Miniatures:

You should be able to get him from the Warstore or CMON

Who cares if it fits a theme, that minotaur maid is awesome!

Bull. There's no way you can steer this thread into endless bovine puns, at least not if you kowtow to the mods.

If your FLGS says they can't do it, it's because they are going only through their distributor and not straight to Reaper. Almost ANY figure Reaper has ever made is still available for purchase even if it's not in the current catalog, and even if it's not currently showing on the website. You can find these models in the NIC "Not in Catalog" catalog here:
http://www.reapermini.com/pdf/2012NICedCatalog.pdf
Even if you're not looking for anything in particular it's a pretty cool document. The last NIC PDF was done in 2012, so there may be a few minis that have fallen through the crack (dropped from catalog in 2013-2014), but most everything should be there. It's a big document though with pictures of over 1700 minis.

AFAIK, the only minis that are truely unavailable are:
-Expired Licensed Lines. Doom, Battletech pins, etc…
-LImited edition models: Certain Sophies, reapercon minis, etc.
-Lines that have been sold off: 15mm Demonworld and Shadowcorp minis, etc

There may be some for whom the molds are done and have not been remade, but I don't know exactly. Suffice to say Reaper's online selection is huge and there's even more goodies that are not online, but can be ordered.

Best of luck in your search!

What's your beef with milking this?

Are you finding it a pain in the dairy-air? It really wasn't meant to cheese you off, and I will apologize... I do not want to get creamed by the mods.

The Auld Grump

*EDIT* On topic - that Mierce minotaur is pretty damned good - leaving out puns, simply because that really is an awesome minotaur.

Nice moove. I'm going to step out of your whey before I get trampled.

I don't know why I didn't immediately think of Mierce. That is a sweet minotaur. It is the female minotaur that is more problematic, but the Cadwe is a good start on a conversion. I guess it depends on what the client wants, but the Reaper one looks a little too much like a sexy minotaur costume for my taste.

Wasn't there a WoW minis line at one point and did they have any Tauren that would fit?
