Not a great photographer, but here's most of what I've painted for Malifaux so far...I should be adding some 10T Brothers and Katanaka Sniper soon, and then Yin and Samurai after them. This game is so sweet and has really had me inspired to paint a lot!

I was learning with the new GW technical paints. I went a bit overboard on the Tots. I've been a bit more restrained since then.

Very nice crew there. Good strong colours and the blood works!

The colours were very much intentional. After doing more muted military colours for Infinity, I wanted to do some brighter colours again.

Painted up some M&SU for a mate. Thought I'd share. It was a nice change from GW models.

Thanks! Was my mates idea to magnetize and I had to execute. it. Was a bit fiddly but got there in the end. Tried to position them so just about any spider can go on any base. Worked about 75% of the time.

My first Katanaka Sniper, along with how a lot of my Malifaux models will be getting based from now on.

Looking good, very stealthy.

Also, the M&SU Crew above is stellar!

Hey guys, great thread. I finished my Carver this morning and I am searching for basing materials at the moment. I want to put him in a cornfield setting so his base is not quite finished.

That is the old one, right? How well did it go together?

Hi Matt, it went together just fine. Obviously his assembly is not as seamless as the new plastics but overall he was not challenging. The left leg had a bit of a gap that needed green stuff to fill in near his hip. The arm with the knife and head went on fine with no issues. I used a bit of putty and CA glue to assemble them. The model itself was fun to paint and there was a nice level of detail about it. I glued him to the base and then again applied Milliput putty around the base to give him a more substantial securing as well. Haven't had any issues with handling and is one of my most favorite models to date.

I've seen images of the new plastic carver and I have to say I'm not a fan of the design. It's rather cartoony and does not give that creepy bogeyman that the metal one exudes.

I do need to find some miniature pumpkins and crows for my basing. The plastic one does have the crows, that is one thing it has in its favor.

That seems to be an overall change in aesthetic direction for the game in general. I like it (most of the time, I hated the new Tuco art enough to hunt down the old metal), but I can see why people who have been with the game for longer don't.

True and for most part I am pleased with the change. Some of the metals were "meh" compared to their newer plastic counterparts now but the same goes for the converse as well for a few models. Just comparing both models is the best way to judge the design to see which best captures the horrorifying scarecrow trope in your own opinion.

I really like the new lord chompy bits and the death marshals compared to their metal brethren for instance but the Carver in plastic is just cartoony. I also prefer the metal version of Mortimer as the pose is much more dynamic.

Oh well at least all of the models paint up beautifully!

Man that is sick but in a cool way.

I have the plastic teddy but am unsure how to go about it. I might dig up my old teddy from my childhood and make a nightmare version of that.

Well ive got the normal metal one aswell his colours are reversed. so white body and blue limbs.

Love those sorrows. I like the really subtle highlights. just enough to make sure you know they're there.
I need to work on some darker colour schemes for some of my neverborn. half of mine look like they come from a circus.

Thanks, it was a series of washes and highlights after basing with dark angels green and black mixed. Then successive highlights of the base mix with nurglitch green added yo lighten it up. The wash cannot be replicated as it was what I had left of thraka green, asurmen blue and devlan mud.

I miss devlan mud....
