I love the wraithknight model but is it really worth it?
I could easily take two wraith lords for the price of one wraithknight and they are the same toughness and if I wanted strength 10 weapons I could just take Wraithguard

Factor in the psychological effect-sure, you can get the weapons other ways, everyone knows that, and there are other models with similar stats. But seeing them strapped to a model at least double the height of everything else on the board, combining hardcore weaponry with good stats.....that does something to your opponent.

It depends on their role in your army. They are easy to kill for certain units, are bully's against some opponents, are board control pieces against most builds, etc. The question you need to ask is, do I take a wraith knight or unit of Fire dragons in a wave serpent? That is what I have found works for me.

Wraith Knights are very much worth it. Just take one. If you don't have S10 (Distortion) in your list, take it stock. If you run Wraith Guard, then you can consider the Sun Cannon--it very much evaporates units. Also experiment with running your list as Iyanden and making the Wraith Knight your Warlord. Also experiment with Deep-Striking it...fun!

If you're facing Grav-Centurions, in a drop pod or otherwise, consider keeping your Wraith Knight in reserves. Shoot the rest of your army at the Centurions and bring your knight on at a reasonable distance from them (unless they're dead, in which case do whatever you want).

Stock Wraithknights are one of the most competitive HS options in the entire game. So yeah, they're worth it.

I can just take war walkers which are far more competitive...

One WK easily outclasses two WLs. First, stock WLs are poo, you need to buy two guns putting them up to 160 points to be any good. Second, two WLs uses up two force org slots. Moving 12" is huge, combined with S10 36" guns the threat range is massive, and they are also pretty handy at beating up vehicles in close combat.

Totally worth it. Total cheese when spammed (except vs gravguns and DE).

There's no contest between 2 wraithlords and a wraithknight imo. The 12 move over terrain on a bully unit like the WK is very powerful.

That's why I always take both. They have direct opposite roles in an army and they each perform them about equally well. To call WWs much more competitive is simply not true.

Whats so good about War Walkers? Their AV seems quite bad..

They have battle focus so can dart back into cover after shooting they have a 5+ invunerable and can take two str 8 ap 2 lance weapons all for only 70 points per model.

Not sure there is much use in arguing over which OP units are the most OP. Just about every option other than troops are under-pointed by at least 20% in the eldar codex. Yes also...Wraithknights are most definitely worth it.

Unless you are playing against DE, then yes they are worth it. If Playing DE, just leave your Wraith list at home. My group tried to ambush me with that over the holiday, instead I had lugged my Iron Warriors across two states, surprise.

I prefer 2 wraith lords with brightlance/scatter lasers, and a single Wraithknight with the sun cannon led by a D-cannon wraithseer, accompanied by D-scythe wraithguard in serpents as the core of my force. Anything else is just there to fill points.

The knight takes the brunt of enemy fire being all big and bad and I will sweep it up a flank and start moving laterally along the enemy line. With this army I tend to play a forced flank approach which forces my opponent on the opposite flank to move out of position to engage my main force. Typically I will have some force on the opposite side in serpents or a squad or two of warp spiders just to delay him more. All depends on what the terrain looks like and what my opponent is. If its DE and I am forced to play them(which doesn't happen since I don't play tournies) I would likely just keep my wraiths back in safety behind terrain and make them come to me(which DE typically do anyway)

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

Probably the best unit in the Eldar Codex.

Their Strength is Close Combat.

No, Wraithlords are trash now.

You can bring a WraithLord for like 180 points, while a Wraithknight costs 240 and has twice as many wounds and more attacks in CC and a 12" move. Bringing wraithlords is bad.

No, your forgetting the two weapons on the Wraithlord that make it around 180 points.

No idea where your math came from.

Not to mention you get better guns...with distort...standard - and can add 2 more star cannons if you wish.

I said a wraithknight is better than 2 wraithlords.

I don't understand what you are disagreeing with lol.
