Good work on the c-beamer chamber. Nice to to have the "conversion" concept actually depicted.

Mostly, on my phone.

Glad I helped, though I think you're overstating my assistance somewhat. Also, liking the use of da tech head. Great stuff as ever chief.

Yeah, I've been quite preoccupied lately with a new semester kicking off an all, but I hope that things will start to fall in to place soon!

Anyway, nice energy swirl on the c-beamer (it's a cool conversion as well) and those letter on the shoulder pad are truly amazing!

@Tipios - Thanks man, I'm glad you like it and it kind of makes sense

@Gits - I figured some people might like to know where it all came from, so posting the old WIP was the quickest way!

@M0rdian - Thank you!

@Graven - Cheers, I also have 1 more head spare, just gotta think where I want to use it now....

@FPS - No worries consider yourself added to that camp thanks again for commenting!

@Count - I'm glad you like it, your blog is coming along nicely as well

Update: got a bit more of the Tech done:

I also took a stage by stage for this axe and if anyone wants to see, I'll draw up another guide like I did for the Libby's axe.

Yes please... I'm so "challenged" when it comes to power weapons and you seem to do them effortlessly.

Thanks, I'm quite happy with my CF, I feel that I'm constantly learning something new, maybe not revolutionary stuff but it makes me feel more confident for every miniature that I paint. I'm keeping it pretty basic for the time being and will try to take it up a notch as the first squad gets closer to completion.

But let us now focus on your stuff, I just have to say, Whoa! That power axe is truly magnificent! Those sparks almost look alive and the highlight on the handle is pretty sweet, especially the checked part! Great stuff!

@Gits - Ask and ye' shall receive

@Count - Great to hear your learning with your CF's. Stoked you like the axe, it was another attempt at the lighting motif and it turned out ok

@LDP - Easy enough, base with Khemri Brown, devlan mud wash, then bring up the raised areas of the parchments with Kommando Khaki over a course of 3 layers, then edge highlight with bleached bone.

@Tipios - Tut's incomming!

@Daxx - Urgh, lets not get started on the legs... I my gs-fu let me down something cronic, I lack the understanding/skill/new greenstuff perhaps to have pulled it off properly. I'm still chugging along with them but they will detract from the rest of the model. It's actually quite a shame. I should be able to post pic's of them later.

Green axe tutorial below

Started with a Orkhide Shade green base coat and washed it black then waited for it to dry, once dry it got a coat of Dark Angels green. A very small amount of white was added to the Dark Angels green and large lines were painted out to somewhat simulate lightning flowing from the cog wheels

More white was added to the mix (still small increments) and a thinner line was painted leaving the darker fatter line still showing

Here I went to Goblin Green, again thin lines

When the lines become to small to paint down I started to focus the lighter paint at junctions where lines meet for this I used Scorpion Green I think

The aim now is to bring the paint at the junctions to a single point on the junction as very light green

When you add a white dot or mark to the junction areas the final result hopefully should look better than this

Wow, thanks allot. Now I need an axe I think I'm gona try this lightning effect on my pimped wizard staff. When it's done I will show you, also need to paint his face grey, using your technique. So when he's finished we will see how well I have followed your tuts

@Gits - You're welcome

@Tipios - Happy to help, can't wait to see what you come up with!

Update: Techmarine Terminator done. Really quite gutted that his leg GS was so low quality, I've tried to mask it with paint... it didn't help that much.

Ah yes, that was one model I drew inspiration from!

Update: And now for something completely different Imperial Guard. The first thing I noticed.... how little there is to an IG man, compared to a Spacemarine who has two chest parts, legs, back pack, head, arms, shoulders and weapons not considering the other stuff like grenades etc you can add on. These guys seem so simple.

I'm doing a command squad for a mate of mine.

Great to see you attempting something other. Infuriating how clean your colours are even at this stage! Hope you're still planning on doing something xenos for yourself.

@LDP - Cheers man. GL with your guy as well.

@Graven - Yeah I really needed the change, was getting burnt out with doing Grey all the time, hence why I did the Terminator Techmarine, just to change it up. I am still planning on changing up to a Xeno team next. I remembered I have about 12 Eldar Guardians in a box somewhere so I might try out some colour schemes on them before I commit to anything full time.

I also based coated/washed another paladin terminator

Once I get the command squad done I'll move on with him.

I'm a bit surprised the Terminator Techmarine didn't generate many responses. I guess he's not every one's cup of tea. oh well C'est la vie.

I don't believe that you have anything to be ashamed of concerning the GS work on the tech marine, it looks OK and the rest of the mini more than compensates for that! He's brutal btw, nice work!

@Tipios - Cheers, yes lots of faces to paint, however.... IG faces suck, they have helmets and cheek guards, so there isnt much I can really do (see below) you could also be right about the darker models, my partner used the camera for something and nothing quite looks the same :( either that or you are mad.

@Briancj - Thank you! and yeah I'm noticing that a lot as well, it seems to go through patches like every one goes outside instead of posting on Dakka

@Ogryn - Thanks

@Count - You're far to kind, although I guess the rest of the model draws attention away from the legs so it's much less noticeable.

Update: IG melta man done. the bases aren't done as my mate want's to do them. Something about feeling like he helped finish the model its fine with me. Overall he wanted a simple scheme nothing too over the top, I guess just a bit higher than table top quality.
