UPDATE (of sorts)

Hello everyone, just finished the first year of my degree (woo) and im now moving house so lots of boxing of warhammery stuffs but yeah, should be back properly soonish since i am back at my old house on the 20th

picked this up online a few days ago for a decent price and have since been looking for another one as well, originally i was looking at getting 2 of the actually battle wagon kits but i lost a bid and got this as a consolation prize. Still i cant decide on wheather i should now pick up another land raider to convert or weather to keep looking for a ork battle wagon (im still going to convert some stuff on it regaurdless)

SO SHOULD I

BUY A SPACE MARINE LANDRAIDER

OR

BUY A ORK BATTLE WAGON

to use in my force. (considering i now have 3 raiders all converted to be battle wagons)
(im also considering just buying the tracks of the raider and working from that as a base with a mass of scratch building)

ANYWAY thank you for looking

(and the caplocks are just so peeps skim reading have something that stands out as tbh i am more of a picture person and not sure i would be interested in the text unless it had the standing out bits (just imo))

thanks

Buy something from a different faction to loot. Not mauny people use Hammerheads for battlewagons, though they can work well- Looted Monoliths are always neat, and these days you could possibly get a pretty awesome Wagon from looting a Necron Barge of some kind.

If you do get the LR, buy a Chaos one- same price, mostly the same weapons, and more spikey bits and skulls, which are almost as useful to Orks as they are to Chaos.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

If yer an Ork, why dont ya WAAAGH!!

That's actually a pretty cool conversion as it stands.

Like Anvil's idea... see if you can pick up a busted-*ss monolith and convert the daylights out of it!

I will have to say the landraider is a great conversion to use. That said, I think a theme should be used for their conversion. Many do get out of hand and over flamboyant.

It is also better on table top because you have a longer front 14 to use. Which is big, because the current Ork battle wagon is very thin, and has a hard time keeping that front arc up.

Hello,

Ive been working in the damaged landraider i got for a while now but my laptop died so have been unable to update on progress untill now. (im going to awnser comments after this bit because it will get confusing the other way around and i might repeat myself)

So, ive been a fan of the battle fortress model from forgeworld and a bigger fan for the old rules (in the imperial armour 9 book) allowing you to do a custom one of your own.
Now i always liked the idea of having 3 super kannons but i dont know if in the new edition you can use the imperial armour 9 stuff any more so, if i build one with 3 super kannons will i be able to play the 3 super kannons in a game? (im planning on building other options for it as well but it would help if i knew this now tbh)

If anyone know it would be a great help to me
Thanks

Im not super sure about what exsactly i would do with a monolith tbh, i think it would be quite a challenge to try to reinvent one as an ork vehihcle and make it something that is'nt a floating box with ork bits. I think its something to keep in mind but im not totally sure. I think a hammer head or skyray would be quite a cool base as well but at that point again as with the monolith it becomes a problem of track or no tracks and if tracks, scratch or off something else. I do think a hammer head is appealing to me the most at the moment though mainly because after playing with the ion cannon thing on the battle fortress at the mo it is a really really cool gun.
Also as a note im not going to be picking up anything that is'nt second hand and im not really wanting to pay full price for it so if i did go the landraider route again i would just be picking up whatever was cheaper really and the spike it up after regardless.

Thanks SelvaggioSaky, i would but i am quite found of landraiders in gameplay (or was) and if i scratch built one to play games with i would't be able to use it in games at the shops :L so as much as this is an option, building up from an exsisting model i think is the best route here.

and cormadepanda i could'nt agree more as with regard to the theme thing, i have been toying with the idea of 20 man units based around a theme and having a wagon based around one of these units would be pretty cool. And i could'nt agree more with the front armour thing but i dont want to be acused of modeling to advantage..... but i will be having something with a bigger then average front section.

THANKS EVERYONE FOR COMMENTING and viewing

Thanks man

just a little update today really, added some more structure to where the 3rd super kannon is going to go and added more to the bottom of the ion cannon based gun so it swivels better in its place as well as weighting it down a bit. And i added some more tracked section to the back of the raider. Still not sure if on the final model im going to have them showing or not but im sure they will be useful.

thanks for looking, comments always welcome

HELLO DAKA!! Its been too long, you've grown so much since i last saw you (Except where it counts, My project blog! (dam being busy ( )

SO, been working on a side project of late. My younger brother is just starting to be interested in 40k and has decided to start an army of orks (After years of being told of there awesomeness). He's 9 so his army is by no means going to be competitive as much as its just going to be the models he likes the most in an army he likes. ATM he's got a box of Nobz and feral warboss he's working through. I've been giving him a hand here and there with various things but trying to get him to do more each time. Anyway he asked if i could post em here so i am.

TO THE INTERESTING BIT!!! IMAGES

GOFF FERAL WARBOSS

LITTLE FISH'S FIRST UNIT OF NOBZ

think so far its going pretty well. only the warboss and the guy with two spears are completely done atm but everything is being worked on. The deal is he cant have anything new until he has finished this stuff but his birthday will be around October and i think that's ample time. sooo if he can finish by then im getting him something really cool. (he might see this so i cant say)

ANYWAY

thanks for looking

Hello all, its been a while since ive posted on here but ive just started messing around with some age of sigmar models and thought i would post some of the results on here

Mainly been working on the Dragon Conversion recently but just trying to build up a fairly decent monster army (not really that interested in any of the there units t the moment)

Anyway, for all of the people who have subscribed for orky things and orky things alone. Im making a couple of custom dreads and should have pictures up soon.
thanks for the views
