Have you considered he's maybe meant to be a midget among marines? :p

Azrael died a long time agon. They put one of those small rope guys into a PA suit. That's the secret they are so ashamed about.

Honestly I think it's for the best, I think it'd be silly to have Ravenwing and Deathwing securing objectives for other imperial armies.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

How many pts is it to outfit a 10-man tactical squad like the DV box (Plasma cannon, plasma gun, plasma pistol on srgt)???

Indeed. By the fluff, Ravenwing and Deathwing would be more concerned with secretly hunting the Fallen instead of helping imperials beat up xenos kids for their lunch money.

Welp, it seems after horribad fluff in the GK/Necron Codex's, GW is simply not making any new fluff for their new edition dex's. Both the CSM Codex and this one (skimming it) were devoid of any meaningful new fluff. I guess this is better then the Necron treatment.

Looking for the Empire spearmen from the Warhammer sixth edition box set (empire vs orcs) Must be unpainted and in good condition. Also looking for MIB Empire State Troops boxes.

Looking for Battle for Macragge and Black Reach Tactical squads, unpainted and unassembled.

To stick with mostly established and rather nice fluff is preferrable to the sillyness, so I am happy with the course of 6th ed so far.
GW got a bit back in time too, more fluff of pre-M41 and the 13th BC as the end of their setting.

Not really, if you took the same squad from Codex: Space Marines it would be 200 points, which is only 5 points more than the veteran sergeant version from DAs, the majority of the savings DA can take is from the downgrade to Leadership 8.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, I like the freedom of being able to leave the Vet Sergeant at home, especially useful in an Azrael army making use of his Rites of Battle rule, but where the new DA costing outshines the vanilla codex isn't full 10 man squads with both weapon options, it's the smaller units.

I had to download my iPad codex twice, first time it had no pictures.

Found that the first paragraph for the Company Master background has Warhammer fluff in it.

Found no special Gets Hot! rule which is a shame.

There's not any statline for the watcher on any of the Deathwing entries. He's just there for show, or yeah, to act as a marker of some sort. DWK's can take a "perfidious relic" as an option, maybe use him as a marker for that.

The weapons options for sure, but I kind of like optional Veteran Sergeants as a slight differentiation for DA tac squads, and it makes sense to me given the way veterancy works among the DAs that maybe they are less likely to use their veterans who aren't Deathwing that way.

I wouldn't be offended if regular marines got that, but I would also be happy if they didn't.

He is a Perfidious Relic Marker, the Company Master can take one as well as Deathwing Knights.

He's not going to have a stat line because the established fluff is that they never assist in fighting and are nigh on indestructible.

All the time, it was the same in the last codex too so I'm curious, what made you think it might be only against Ranged Attacks?

I'm thinkin' back to the days when it really was a bubble-field, and didn't work against attacks made from inside the field.
