I've no idea how anyone could think the two are remotely related. Both are holding swords and a pistol, but in opposite hands. One is a chain sword, the one here maybe a power sword? Both have floppy hats... but I wouldn't say the hats remotely look similar. So... yes they both have 2 arms, 2 legs, both might be inquisitors... both are holding weapons... but, beyond that I don't see the comparison.

After taking another look at the "original" art from RT, I think I was mistaken as he's not as close as my nostalgic rose colored glasses incorrectly recalled from all those years ago.

On a semi-related note, can you share what parts of the previous Heroic Commissar were the ones Games Workshop objected to?

While I don't like the pose. I find it a bit weak with the stance like that, I do agree with @gohkm.. That sword is lookinng pretty dope.
