Threadomancy woo!

JOYTOY is now making Intercessors and the Invictor Warsuit to go with their previous Infiltrators and Incursors.
Personally i don't even care enough to be dissapointed.

Whilst being the one hanging on every post and update by GW and then taking the time to post it just to tell us how much you don't care.

Admit it. You'll actually be the first in line to buy these.

It's entirely possible to care about the miniature side of the hobby and not about the crappy merch, y'know?

That invictor suit looks cool, but I imagine the price will be more than I'm willing to stand. Hmm, GW's is $60, sooo, I 'm guessing this will be about $120, looking at Joytoy's other models?

Fooling no-one.

You're already tracking down your own Official Ultramarine Christmas Stocking to put your Primaris goodies in.

If they’re working with Ban Dai on one… *looks at Master Grade series Gundam kits* … that’ll do.

I'll be honest, the Joytoy (what a name ) figures at least look like they fit their pricetag. I'm not the target group for them, but if I had to pick between large, detailed, moving figure of a scout-mech for marines and the GW one but 1/2 the price, I'd go with the one with more features just cause it's making a better display piece.

I do wonder if the uh, rollcage? On the Invictor will be open-able.

So that’s a little over 4 bucks a pop for the little guys? If they were blind box impulse singles, that’s not a horrible price. But who needs 24 in assorted colors? And dropping that much for the whole box at once is a little steep.

Interesting, but I’ll pass.

Probably and the pilot will probably be removable as well considering how the other JoyToy mechs work.

I got the chibi advent calendar and, like a spoiled child, opened them all up to put on display immediately.

Below is the list (behind the spoiler tag) of models you get.

Spoiler:

Black Templar
Hawk Lords
Flesh Tearers
Blood Angels
White Scars
Mentors
Minotaurs
Dark Angels
Space Wolves
Raven Guard
Silver Templars
Red Scorpions
Imperial Fists
Crimson Fists
Tome Keepers
Iron Hands
Howling Griffons
Raptors
Salamanders
Blood Ravens
Ultramarines
Emperor's Spears
Carcharodons Astra
Blank - paint your own

Other details about the set are below this spoiler tag:

Spoiler:

All of the poses are identical (same as the previous chibi primaris marine). The guns are painted differently based on the chapter, so not all of them are black (but many of them are).
The box is contained in a sleeve. Removing the sleeve you get a box that opens up with two doors, and little perforated cardboard slots where the models can be drawn from.
They aren't perfect. Pretty much what you'd expect of quickly made PVC models. What is nice is that all chapters have appropriate right and left shoulder markings.

Let me know if anyone has any other questions.

the chibi marine calendar is what you'd find as the "punishment calendar" on Ashen's advent calendar battle, except it'd be a horrible idea because every day it's the same thing.

Likely designed so that you can go for an 'over the shoulder for the weapon while playing with an auspex or other' look but does no favours if you want the Marine to actually carry the weapon.

Was kinda hoping for an update on those when I saw new posts in this thread, but instead it's something that feels like the most peak GW thing imaginable: none of that thank you very much, just Marines, more Marines, let's just have something that's exclusively Marines!
And by the Emperor, what a pricetag on that advent calendar too. Had to check it on the webstore before I could believe it.

Ugh, why an Invictor Warsuit and not a dread or any of the more iconic units? Is GW forcing them to focus on the horrible Primaris stuff?

I would say there's a pretty high probability of that.

I guess they wanted a marketable mecha with a removable pilot.

It does look a lot like the Matrix Zion Mechs from the 3rd movie

But also, the vanguards have the most accessories and like...play features of all the marines. A basic primaris boy has his rifle and like, two pouches and that's it.

Apparently the Joytoy Invictor and Intercessor 4 pack went up for presale on aliexpress and immediately sold out. Prices were:

Invictor $170

Intercessors 4 pack $150

So twice as expensive per guy as the McFarlane marines. Ha

Still no word when these new wave 2 things will go up on GW site though?

Is it too much to hope that GW would eventually do another order of Wave 1 for those who missed it?

I didn't, but I really want these and would hate to miss Wave 2+ when they eventually show up.

...Yes? That isn't something just for this either. It's just a more expensive brand than Mcfarlane regardless of the Warhammer brand.
