Yeah. Kragnos shares quite some design elements with the Ogroids & there's some lore overlap, too, with the Ogroids having apparently been kicked out from the Destruction alliance after ticking off Gorkamorka - which seems also in line with Kragnos' interests - but he'd need to convert them back for Chaos which does not really seem like something happening in Warhammer universes :p

I never knew that about Ogroids. That's some pretty cool lore. I guess repurifying from Chaos isn't impossible, since Sigmar has several stormcast that were previous chaos champions. Though, I doubt Kraggy will be messing around with souls, or would even care about saving the ogroids

Arrows?

I see bagpipes and a Sigmarine lion shoulder pad.
Thou it could be an actual head attached to a fur cloak resting on the shoulder pad.

Stormcast musician? Nah, borduns usually don't have fletching.

Guess there are new ranged Stromcast coming too.

The fletching is kind of hard to spot because of the color on the pelt(which it does seem to be rather than sculpted metal) there, but those do seem to be arrows.

Also, I'm inclined to think that whatever model this is? That might not be a shoulder-slung quiver. It almost looks like there's a legplate with the pelt draped over it.

Ah, I see it now. They blend a bit too much, and stop far short at the last ring. Wasn't expecting the big rounded stump at the end of the arrows.

New stormcast archer, then. Either a unit champ, hero or some sort of thundercat themed unit.

Hopefully hero. Vanguard Chamber could actually use a Lord-Aquilor on foot and an archer unit.

That was my thought as well.

And I do wonder if they are indeed arrows, because of the knobbly bit at the end, But I can’t think what else they might be?

Why do you guys think it's a Stormcast shoulder pad? Looks more like a pelt to me.

Could be something like an Atlatl though I don’t know of any that are historically depicted as using fletched darts.
Speaking of, they could also be Plumbata I guess? Though there’s a lot of argument about how those were used, exactly, in academia so it’d be interesting to see what side of the debate GW takes.

If you look, the 'knobbly bit' has a small cleft either painted in or sculpted. Definitely seem to be arrows.

Maybe. Maybe it's something Freeguild.

I'm inclined to say you are 100% correct and it's Stormcast, but it could be something warmachine related or a Freeguilder or who knows what!

Today's rumor engine though? Definitely seems to also fall into the category of something big and archery...but wearing metal. The pelt(and it is a pelt) is resting atop some metal plating of some kind. It looks like it might be a thigh or upper leg in the image.

You can clearly see Stormcast pad under the trophy head/pelt, I'd bet it's mini seen from the back where the quiver is.

Uh, you guys know real arrows have these? Because that's where the string transfers whole huge force from bow, so it has to be reinforced?

If anything, it's the previous GW arrows with thin ends and fletching going to the very top that are stupid and unrealistic...

I still don’t think they’re knocks. It’s possibly just the greyscaling, but the paint job makes them look more like counterweights to my eyes.

You guys know that there's a bunch of different kinds of nocks and fletchings, right? And that some of GW's sculptors over the years have been historical nerds? If anything, it's the previous GW arrows with thin ends and the fletching going to the very top that are just as realistic as anything else...

Stop talking down at people, Irbis. We get it, you have Google.

Oh, and just for fun?
"Self-nock arrows" are a real thing. They use a simple groove cut into the arrow to attach to the string. Not super common, admittedly, but definitely a thing.
Nockless arrows were a thing too, but I literally just read about those today so am not going to pretend I knew about them beforehand. They're actually really interesting to read up on.

Like I said, whatever nocks seem to just be a simple groove cut into the arrow. There's definitely fletching present but the greyscaling made it hard to spot initially...but after seeing it? Can't unsee it!

Looks like a Liberator shoulder-plate the head is resting on. Probably a view from the back of the model. My guess is some kind of new bow-armed Stormcast soldier.

Hmm, don't see Stormcast armour here, myself - the plate below the animal head has a kind of straight, downward-slanted bevel none of the Stormcast minis have, they're much more rounded and even slightly indented?

No, I actually done archery in the past, unlike you. And no, the 'self nock arrows' are not a thing, because even weakest bow will ruin them right quick. Even with arrows made from modern materials. Even in medieval times people heavily reinforced the ends, either by dipping (which results in 'knobby' end, much like above) or wrapping reinforcement. If you see unreinforced arrow, it's usually cheap, throwaway one that was only supposed to be used once (maybe as a way to ruin it so it can't be shot back) but it wasn't done because risk of bow just splitting it instead of firing is too high.

Nockless arrows weren't a thing either, because it's very easy to mess up firing it, have a string slip off the end, and ruin your bow right quick because even a single dry fire can split or outright break bow arms outright if the bow is strong enough. If you want, I can post a picture of fiberglass bow a weak kid dry fired once to show you how it looks like, and that's with something much more durable than a wooden one. Here, now you know what to google next time

As for talking down to people, remind me, who shouted for multiple pages at people they are blind not seeing OBVIOUS tempestus or mechanicum mini in what was 100% female leg that looked nothing like either faction, and that was after people already guessed that it must be sister walker because A ) female look, B ) too big scale to be infantry model?

Gathering the Informations.

Self nocks are slots cut in the back of the arrow. These are simple, but can break at the base of the slot. Self nocks are often reinforced with glued servings of fiber near the base of the slot. The sturdiest nocks are separate pieces made from wood, plastic, or horn that are then attached to the end of the arrow.

Ancient Arab archery sometimes used "nockless arrows". In shooting at enemies, Arabs saw them pick up Arab arrows and shoot them back. So Arabs developed bowstrings with a small ring tied where the nock would normally be placed. The rear end of the arrow would be sharpened to a point, rather than slit for a nock. The rear end of the arrow would slip into the ring. The arrow could be drawn and released as usual. Then the enemy could collect the arrows, yet not shoot them back with a conventional bow. Also, since there was no nock, the nock could not break, and the arrow was less expensive. A piece of battle advice was to have several rings tied to the bowstring in case one broke.

Sorry, you were saying? I mean, you literally argued with me on the point of self-nocks while describing exactly how self-nocks were reinforced...

Just because you've done archery in the past, doesn't mean you're the end-all font of knowledge.
PS:
I have done archery. It's been a decade or so at this point. But heck, I've even used self-nock arrows, given that their flight characteristics make them wonderful for target practice.
