Outflanking

Hi, I'm wondering what everyone favorite ship is? It could be because you like a certain pilot, or the generics just work well for you. Ignoring any pilots or particular upgrades, what ship do you just love running?. You don't even need to think that it is a good ship- I'm just interested in what ship you most want to see in your squadron. Also, why do you like it so much?

For example, I love the Y-wing. In every game I've played it in, it has proved itself to be an extremely reliable ship. Whether it is ioning my opponents ace off my other ships tail, refusing to die no matter what hits it, or even plugging a distracted target with primary weapons when needed, I trust my Y-wings to give my other ships time to work, or even to mop up my opponent in the end.

Q: What do you call a Dinosaur Handpuppet?

A: A Maniraptor

The Lambda. I don't think it's the easiest ship to use well, but it's kind of become my favorite in some ways. Whether it's run as the doom shuttle or the Buzzsaw or whatever, I just like how much you get for the cost and how customizable that tends to make it.

I have been in love with the Z-95 ever since X-wing versus TIE fighter. Don't care how underpowered it is, I love it!

^It's considered underpowered? Huh, I figured being able to swarm with them would be pretty useful, plus cheap missile platform as well as some of the special characters (Craken and Blount).

For me it's B-Wings. I love putting Gunner/FCS or Ion Cannon/Tactician on them.

Current games: X-Wing, Blood Bowl

Was a toss up between firespray and phantom, but i went with firespray. I just love both of those ships.

Post Raider-era Tie Advanced is going to be hard not to love too.

Hang on... there are other ships than TIE Interceptors? News to me.

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

Shuttle for sure. I have recently taken to running two with FCS, and the fact that I still get another 54 points is just an amazing feeling. I am very much considering adding another two to my collection.

The Tie Interceptor. Ever since I played Tie Fighter on the PC. My Imperial fleet never leaves home without at least one.

Well, I mean from a standpoint of the background fluff and the old video games. In the fluff, the X-Wing is everything that the Z-95 was supposed to be, but was limited by the tech level when it was designed. Flying one in the original trilogy period (and especially after Return of the Jedi) was looked at like someone flying a WWII fighter nowadays. Back in games like Xwing vs. TIE, when all ships could be chosen by anyone in a multiplayer game, anyone flying a Z-95 was laughed at for making the decision to fly a "crappy" ship. Which made it all the sweeter when you smoked Xwings and the like as an "underdog".

And even in X-Wing, yeah they are pretty underpowered. It's the extra gear and pilot special skills that makes them worthwhile, especially munitions failsafe. I'll bet anyone flying naked Z-95's (especially generic ones) gets some strange looks unless it's specifically for a swarm list.

I chose the TIE Defender, for the same reason.

Look at it this way- if you had to fly one of these ships against enemy pilots, what else would you pick? Hits like a B-Wing, fast as a TIE fighter, tougher than an X-Wing, and it can flip around and hit something on its tail as easily as most fighters go in a straight line.

This is speaking not in game terms, but rather in on-screen looks and EU backstory badassery....

The Firespray-31.... Well, depending on whether you accept some EU stuff, the Slave I through Slave IV are the ONLY Firesprays in existence, and of course, the pilot is a complete Boss.

I'm still VERY new to the game, so in game terms I can't come up with a favorite, but Slave I is on my list

I'm reasonably new to the game, but I really like the standard x-wing. Its just a good solid fighter. I also like the E-Wing for all its maneuverability, I get to pretend I'm a TIE Interceptor briefly.

We're watching you... scum.

I'm still extremely new to the game but I have really enjoyed the Tie Interceptor especially when adding the push the limit upgrade; The thing is amazing at exploiting space even if you find yourself in a precarious situation the barrel roll/burst combo can usually turn the tide in your favorite or at least mitigate it.
