Subject: "Retro" style Plastic Mech Kits. Where to buy?

Hi guys, I'm new here - love the site! I'm really hoping that you could help me out, I am looking for "retro" style plastic mech kits that look like the following. I call them retro because this is the same style of mech as I used to build back in the 80's.
Can't find anywhere to purchase these types of mech at all. I really don't want resin kits, and am after the plastic self-build ones. I live in the UK, but any place that ships internationally would be an ideal place for me to buy from.

You might find something interesting at Hobby Link Japan.

The Tick: Everybody was a baby once, Arthur. Oh, sure, maybe not today, or even yesterday. But once. Babies, chum: tiny, dimpled, fleshy mirrors of our us-ness, that we parents hurl into the future, like leathery footballs of hope. And you've got to get a good spiral on that baby, or evil will make an interception. |

Not sure about the first model, but the rest are Gundam kits. Plenty of importers (primarily Japanese manufacturers - Bandai, Wave, etc.) to be found online, HLJ being one of the largest. Ebay and Amazon have options, too. Just be prepared to pay, if you're after larger scale and higher detail kits - they aren't necessarily a bad value, especilly for the experienced modeler looking to take their time, but they certainly aren't cheap.

I can also recommend Hobby Link
I've also used Hobby Search successfully

Remember if you buy from outside the EU that you're likely to have to pay about 30% extra on delivery once you add in VAT/Import Duty/etc so budget accordingly

The first mech is called "Fiddler" being sold and distributed by Black Dragon Castings/White Dragon Miniatures or something like that. You can find pictures on their facebook "White Dragon Miniatures" with it. They were at GenCon with a new space miniatures game if I recall. It however isn't plastic, it is resin. If you want plastic you are probably sticking to Gundams and the like from Hobby Link. If you are interested in resin though, e2046.com also has some nice resin mecha.

If you find a mech kit you like on HLJ and so on, it is worth looking for the same kit on UK sites like Antics Online though if they have it you tend to find the price has gone up by the VAT and import duties.

Thanks for all the replies, I appreciate it.
Could anyone recommend me some mech in a similar style to those posted above? To be honest I really have no clue of what to search for...
I quite like most the Armored Core range. Any other mech out there similar to this?

There are various Armored Core models on the market. There are also Patlabor, Dougram Fang of the Sun, and Macross which all would be considered "old school". In fact they probably are the kind of kit you were building in the 80s, because I was building them too.
If you are looking for non-humanoid legged mecha there are various Ghost In The Shell models, an awesome GUNHED, a new ED-209 (expensive) and several similar models if you search a bit.

Thank you Kilkrazy! Seeing the Dougram Kang models really took me back some years! I've been looking a long time for these without any luck (I never knew the names of them), so this is perfect.
