The question is... Is it worth it to buy? I am thinking of starting a Terminator themed SM army. The problem is, it's 3 3/4 months of savings.
My local GW has 1 stocked, and none of my Independents have one. I cannot even find it on the GW website.
Funnily enough, buying it from Amazon would be more expensive than GW direct because shipping.

I really have 2 options.
A. Buy the box in 3 3/4 months if it's still there...
And B. Search for someone in the swap shop who wants High Elves for Space Marines. By my calculations, this could take approximately 90 years.

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

Funnily enough if you google for it, the strike force ultra is available on the Australian GW site.

If the models are bought separately they would cost £246, this is 477 Australian Dollars according to google, the set costs 470 Australian Dollars, which means that you barely save anything (Whiee, 7 Australian Dollars, thats like.. 1 small meal?)

Personally i would the models separately and have them painted and ready in 3.5 months, instead of waiting 3.5 months and hope that the set ist still there.

This silence offends Slaanesh! Things will get loud now!

Generally if it has it’s own box, there are savings there. What you need to ask yourself is if you are going to use everything in the box. You can ignore one or two things, and still save money. If you can sell off the stuff you don’t want, it’s even better.

IIRC that was a limited time box. I went to check on GW’s site to see what was in it, and as you said, it’s not there. IIRC it’s 20 terminators, a LR and a SR, plus a captain. How much of that would you use? Could you get them cheeper, elsewhere? If not together as a box, but ala catre? Tactical terminators should be reasonably easy to find at a discount, due to their proliferation in box sets and general sub-par reputation.

For what it’s worth, I almost picked one up myself, but decided against. The contents look pretty solid. For me, it was the choice between replacing all my old termis with new ones. I thought I could use the money elsewhere better though.

Be careful using Australian Dollars as a metric. GW money math gets very twisted down under.

Running SFU as the actual data slate is probably the best way to run terminators.

You're assault terminators get stuck in your assault vehicles, while the tac terminators deep strike in. When you deep strike, you can run and shoot in the same turn, and you can roll for reserves on turn 1 iirc.

Fun times.

One of them filthy casuals...
