What the title says. With 25 points I could take an academy and obsidian squadron pilot TIE fighters, or one royal guard interceptor with PTL. What do you guys think would work out better?

Well, the main question is what's the rest of the list I guess.

But in a vacuum, I think I love the Interceptor too much to recommend two crappy TIEs over one.

It's not a tournament, but amongst friends. I have darth vader with engine mod and squad leader, a declaration brath defender with outmaneuver, and then I have 25 points left.

Two ties. I just ran two PS6 interceptors with PTL last night and they just didn't cut the mustard for me. Where as my one tie fighter did work.

Sad day because I have a lot more love for the interceptor than I do the TIE fighter.

Two academy pilots, until autothrusters is available. Interceptors are just too vulnerable against turret ships, and turret ships are very popular right now. And your list could definitely use a couple of meatshields/blockers/etc instead of another maneuvering-focused elite ship that is competing for the same board positions as your other ships.
