Hi folks, some people suggested I come to this board and share this story. If I'm in the wrong place let me know, I am new here.

This is not a story about a group of superhumans striding across the field of battle smiting the foes of the Imperium, but rather the story of a band of doughty guardsmen holding the line and serving as best they can. It is a tale of bravery, stoicism, incompetence, and excessive use of detpacks which follows the guardsmen from their origin in the mud and blood to rise as one of the premier Inquisitorial teams on the sub-sector. Time and time again the guardsmen fight and triumph over xenos, heretics, and their own incompetent superiors; officially for the glory of the Emperor, but mostly in a desperate attempt to stay alive.

This is at heart a write-up of an Only War and Dark Heresy campaign, but only briefly touches on the mechanics in the first two chapters and it shouldn't be a problem if you do not like or play either game. Be aware that this thing gets rather long in the later chapters and there is a significant tone shift after the prologue. Sorry about that, the story has been continuing for a while now and I lack any sort of editor.

Gotta say the effort you put in makes me feel a little better about the amount of time/sanity I've sunk into secretly writing an Only/War diary for an NPC. Someone gave him crayons.

That is exactly how one handles an Eldar. Filthy tricksy xenos...wonderful stuff! This is easily one of the best campaign diaries I've read!

Despite an absolutely glacial writing pace, a new chapter is finally up.

The team visits an warzone to capture a live zoanthrope. Cells are repaired, complaints are made, Space Marines are met, the team gets a crash course in Grav-chute usage, Twitch completely snaps, and the captain is perpetually angry.

P.S. You sir need an editor. And i do not mean this in a bad way. The storytelling is awesome.

Yep I really do, makes me wince when I go back and see all the missing words and such.

Someday it'd be nice to have a real editor to go through chapters before they're posted, but that's more of a thing you get when you're writing a real published work as opposed to whatever this is.

At least I've got a few volunteers are helping me go through the HTML archive and clean it up though (recently just finished the Discount Spaceship chapter), so the quality of the old stuff steadily improves.

I've returned from the mountains and writing has resumed! Here's a short interlude from between where the last chapter left off and where the next chapter starts!

Now, this started as an intro piece, but it became far too large, so I split it off. As a result, the writing style is a bit different from usual, and significantly more raw party dialogue has been left in. So I'd like to apologize in advance if the language gets a little crude, it's Aimy's fault.

Well, if anyone here is still interested after all this time: here's the next chapter of the All Guardsmen Party, (Or at least part of it, no Tyranids are actually delivered in this portion, but I intend to catch up by this weekend or next)

In this chapter a Station is visited, Sarge is inquisitorial, NPCs are suprisingly useful, a black marketeer is contacted, Doc does scary things, a heroic speech is made, and vengeance is promised.

Man, that'd be nice, but I don't really see anyone ever putting aside the amount of time it'd take to animate even the shortest of chapters.

As for our group, we're not even playing currently. We've been on hiatus since the final session of AGP, and probably won't start a new campaign until summer rolls around.
