Starting 40k again after a long hiatus and have lumped myself in with Da Ladz!!! Wanted to try and inspire myself to actually keep at the painting of my mini's so I'm starting a Log to help keep me honest. I'm going for a Dread Mob formation from the Ghazgkull supplement so I present the start of my Stompy Scrapheap

First time painting again in a while so took my time in trying to re-gain a semblance of brush control. After some cursing, going over and tantrums I finally gave them the "Sod it, it'll do" approval. Think the wear and tear approach looks adequate and hope to continue this method for all the minis.

Next up, a load of Kanz, 2 more Dreads and converting some Nobs into a Big Mek and Painboss.

Been awhile since I last posted. I've even made some progress.

Hopefully this will inspire me to keep on at a project until it's current ark is done, I may even be inspired to update the Plog as we'll. (note to Gork, Mork and The Creator). I doubt any of my forces will ever truly be completed as there's always more stuff to add. So for starters...

So I do complete projects. My current (and only) 40k force: Ork Dread Mob


I'm also re-painting my Menoth as I wasn't satisfied with what I'd done. It looked ok, but didn't quite have the feel I wanted. Previous was Greyish blue and bone now going for Purple, Black and Copper. A few WIP's of a Revenger with the metallics done (? I think...)

They kinda have a guard. I was undecided on what to do next so just started painting up Boyz as; we'll; you can never go wrong with more Boyz. I've also got about 12 Lootas and Burnas and some Trukks pending. Sadly I then got distracted by Warmahordes.

I really like these! You did an excellent job of the Deffdreads, I especially like your choice in colors, they compliment the minis well.

decided to go for a few different colours to help distinguish between units. Also, I quite like the idea of a colourful Ork army.

Also, got a good bit of painting done this weekend. Was actually going to go to a Local mini-convention where peoples from my gaming group were holding an intro into the Batman game, but couldn't get in as was mobbed. So Mr Revenger got purpled and blacked


and got the base maetal done on my Crusader and Repenter


Just need to do a few additional details on the Revenger then he can be Glued, Based and Varnished.

Managed to get further on with my Revenger yesterday before going to work. [mumble] stupid real-life, needing money...[/mumble]

So, it's now glued and just awaiting basing and varnish.



also managed to dig out my next lot of models once the battlebox is done. Standard Menoth: Choir and Vassal. Then it'll be Errants and their UA



now to work on the crusader.

Good day folks. Making a little more progress on the Battlebox. The Revenger is completed


sadly the best pic of the Revenger I could manage. Just couldn't seem to get it in focus properly or evenly lit.

and the Crusader is well under way. Base purple/black is on and the first layer of purple is done. Maybe a second layer of purple if it looks patchy then onto the highlighting stage.


My mind has started to wander as to what I'll do for my next batch of points. I've got a Vanquisher and Cinerators sitting about although people really don't seem to rate them much. I like the idea of more Errants or an Errant Senechal and maybe some Zealots. Also, what's Menoth without Wracks and a Reclaimer ?
