FREEBIES:

Raging Heroes, who are working on completing their first Toughest Girls of the Galaxy Kickstarter will soon be launching their second project, which will focus on both fantasy and sci-fi versions of the Dark Elves and Sisters of Battle.

The DATE: Our next Kickstarter is launching on MARCH 25!!! With Early Bird pledges, of course!

So here it is: our Dark Elves and our Sisters Kickstarter will run from March 25 to April 8.

It is called TGG2: Darkness and Light (follow the link for the latest until we launch).

It will only last 2 weeks! We've nicknamed it the BlitzKick...

It will feature 6 armies: 3 in Fantasy, 3 in Sci-Fi (following army names may still change):

2 - Lust Elves (a sub-tribe of our regular Dark Elves who have made lust and death their religion)
3 - Sisters of the Orphanage
Science-Fiction:

4 - Void Elves Hunters
5 - Void Elves Flesh Reapers, (a sub-tribe of our regular Void Elves who have made lust and death their religion)
6 - Sisters of the Eternal Mercy

Funding six armies in two weeks in madness. This thread will undoubtedly be entertaining as all get up though. So I'm buckling my seatbelt.

Raging Heroes is no doubt pining for the same effect they had last time where they reached (and overshot) their initial funding goal in mere minutes.

Whether this effect can be replicated after the first campaign's long and arduous journey (which is still underway for many) remains to be seen.

I will be pledging for a single miniature myself, my Guard still needs a good priest or two.

So, twice as many armies in half the time? I suspect it'll mostly be characters with a unit or two per faction, rather than the other way around.

Some predictions (in no particular order)
Arbitrary funding level that they can blow through in minutes - $20-30k.
Somewhat elastic stretch goals during the first period, whilst they drink wine and get around to posting them.
Better communication, at least at first.
Always reaching for another unlock, rather than stopping themselves from over promising
Another entertaining Dania thread.
Delays, resculpts and changes after the fact.

That said, if they have actually learnt things, much of the above may not come to pass. Either way, I'll probably back, at least for a dollar to get updates.

Guessing they are going for new blood as i am not sure that people who are still waiting for their stuff will invest in this kickstarter.

That poor priestess, she definitely needs to see a doctor. It's amazing she can stand at all, what with her spine and hips not being connected.

There are plenty of backers of the first one who will gladly tell you to be quiet and take the waiting like a hero, because the wait will be worth it. Only question is, when you finally have mini's in hand, will you still be needing them for that one project or army build?

Expect to see many girls posed like that, it is one of the trademark styles running throughout these armies.

I'm glad this thread hasn't succumbed the the negativity of the TGG thread

Admittedly I'm also blown away by the fact that its only 13 days long.....That seems very improbable that they are gonna have a good campaign

Like I said before, they are probably hoping to repeat the quick-fund miracle of the first campaign, though with double the amount of armies now. There's also less hype involved this time round, though that may still be ramped up as the final launch date comes ever closer.

Jesus, someone needs to tell the industry to calm the hell down with all the March kickstarters. Someone is going to lose out big style, theres only so much money and so many backers to spread around.

Interested in two of these armies - would have preferred them being split so I could spread the cost and maybe at least possibly perhaps start on some painting before the second lot arrives

One of the other reasons is I already have way too much stuff, and way too much unpainted stuff... I was hoping the releases were going to be quite spread out, and the ks's were going to be much later in the year

I didn't really follow their previous KS, whats the status on that?
I skimmed the LOLHEWGE thread but I gathered that some people have got their stuff, others haven't?
Was it par for the KS course? ie ambitious but late as hell?

The people that have got their stuff: whats the quality like?

Been waiting for this so I could finally get a Kings of War Twilight Kin army going, if the models are suitable. What's the word on materials?

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

Six armies does seem like they might be stretching it a little bit.

But I'm a fool, so I'll go in for a few minis, and then no doubt add a wad to the PM.

The current status is that they're still working on it. Almost all of the heroes are now done, alongside the regular troops. Stuff that they're still working on are some heroes, mecha, artillery teams and specialist squads like the werewolves and servitors.

The first one is super-duper late as hell.

I got my minis, I chose metal. The quality is good and what you'd expect from them if you've bought from them before.

Personally, after the long wait and having other companies step up to scratch the project itches I had, they're just fine to me.

If it's like the previous one heroes will be metal / resin (your choice) and troops will be.. resin? Restic? Whatever fancy term people use for that material?

I'll be in for the Sisters Army. It will help to bolster my Metal SoB army.

I have some of their resin stuff that is on General release and happy with the quality. Plus the ones I have so far will make a good command squad for my Imperial Guard plus an Assassin.

The view I take with kickstarter projects is to never look at the finish date and just be surprised when the stuff starts turning up.

I know I pledged the TGG last March and am still waiting for my order. I did ask for everything to be delivered at one time. If you do back this kickstarter, double any time for delivery. From what I have seen, the product is impressive.

A friend has just got his order for the first kickstarter, they are fantastic models.

And a female Dark Eldar army? with some demons? This could be expensive for me.

Hmmmm?

That's a very precise figure...how do you work that out?

"All GW will gain is my increased contempt for their business practices." - AesSedai
"Its terrible the way that conversion kit is causing him to buy 2 GW kits... " - Mad4Minis
"GW are hard to parody, as they are sometimes so stupid that the best in comedy couldn't beat them at their own game..." - Paradigm

Or if you didn't pledge they open it up to everyone else for about half a year aswell still through paypal .

And the 80% is most definately made up, but not by anyone on this board.

Even though I still haven't seen a single piece of resin from the previous one, I might pledge for a priest or so for the other models. On the other hand, they might postpone delivering the other models till the new campaign is finished

I admit I'm terribly interested in the fantasy Dark Elves. I have been ever since I read R.A. Salvatore's Drizzt novels in my youth.

That said, I still haven't got my stuff from their first Kickstarter - I was one of those who took the 'send it all at once' option.

I'll probably pick up at least a squad or two. There's far too many other interesting Kickstarters to blow my entire budget on this one.

Hmm. I'm not interested in restic in the sort of numbers I'd be looking at to make an average sized Kings of War army. It's over a hundred minis, possibly approaching 200.

Still, I'll keep an eye.

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. I saw the resin versions and they were awesome. when restic is mentioned, I think early Mantic awfulness, but these are really really good.

They use some sort of spin cast-able resin (no, not finecast) which is very defiantly not restic (PVC) as used by PP/Sedition Wars/Early Mantic/Relic Knights KS etc)

it's holds the detail better (pretty much identical to the metal) and is easier to clean up,

(I also suspect it will have the same vulnerability to dropping as FW resin, but have not tried it)

I got a fair amount of metal last time round, but this time I suspect I will go mainly for the spin-cast resin
