Btw, if friendly pick-up games, is it acceptable to end up playing mirror matches?

I.e. Where you only bring enough to play one faction and end up having to play against he same faction (i.e. Rebels vs Rebels)?

Or is that frowned upon? And that the general expectation is that you should always bring enough to play both Rebel and Empire?

This is for friendly pick-up games but with 'strangers'.

Thanks.

Playing Mirror matches is fine. I've never met anyone who's objected.

It's fine and it happens all the time. I've never heard any objection to playing a mirror match or suggestion that one player needed to have both sides available (and in that case how would you choose which player has to switch factions?). And of course in tournaments you bring your single list and play against whoever you're paired with, regardless of faction.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Harkov. Or Zaarin.

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”
