Is there any evidence of the finnish army getting these from the germans? I know they got a good amount of the Stug III Ausf Gs but just curious if any 42s ended up with them.

What Big P said. They primarily used captured Soviet armour in any case, mostly T-26s, BT-7 and BT-42s. I think they were given a small number of Panzer IV as well, though probably only around a dozen.

Just looking at the returns detailed in Suomalaiset panssarivaunut 1918-1997 and on the 31st December 1944 the Finnish Army is showing 14 Panzer IV.

On that date they also had 9 T34/85s... and a single ISU152 after capturing two on 25th Jue 1944, one was lost shortly after capture and the other was towed away. Not too mention all the usual tat as Pete mentions. Still 19 Vickers 6-ton on the returns for end 44!
