Can't wait to see you make progress on the knight. Awesome figure that deserves a "Knightley" paint job!

@Gits - The knight is on the list of ones I really want to paint, there is one more however, please see below

Update: The final model in this push, a conversion of Guilliman into a Grey Knight (Not sure what rules I'll run him with at this stage)

You could run Gman as Draigo, or even a Grandmaster Dreadknight (given a very understanding opponent). It's a badass conversion either way!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

@Zerg - I could, I should have kept the sword and changed his gun arm to a massive sheild (oosh, that would have been awesome!)

@Gits - Thank you

@Ice - Grand Master Micus (sounds like a hiphop pseudonym) reporting for duty sir!

@Graven - Cheers buddy!

Update: Pretty much everything has been primed white, this took a bit longer than I anticipated, models weren't sticking to my blu-tac

@Azalle - Cheers dude, I'll be getting into it soon enough!

Update: All the bases had a whip through for the browns etc, no details applied yet that is to come, and I think all the to be grey models got grey applied, next will be air brushing the normal grey on to their armour (or I'll go to individual models)

Looking crisp. Even preliminary basing stages get me super excited so long as a captain is involved

Aw, a well-travelled TLAC I do love the way our goodies (and baddies) circulate to happy new owners
On a separate note, I am astonished at how tidy your work space is mate. Shames me into... not really tidying mine actually, but still

@LDP - Hahah I should have known this was the best opener to bring on board, a captain or honour guard FTW

@Graven - I know right, the Great GMS swap was such a good idea to promote this! Also, tiny little secret on the work space, I tidied it up before I took the shots, during the build phase I have feth everywhere! I have models perched up near the lights, all manner of Bits/Bags/Boxes scattered all over the place. So its all smoke and mirrors

@York - You and me both, and here is a question for the masses if they opt to read this bit, NotGuilliman's head, seeing as it is a Paladin head I'm tempted to paint it the bone colour - similar to that in my profile picture, however that paint scheme is typically reserved for Terminator Elites who also have dark grey armour, I want NotGuilliman to have my signature lighter grey armour so his head may wash out when in comparison. The question is this - What colour should his helmet be?

Update: More Base colouring applied

I think NotGuilliman would look great with the bone helmet and regular armour colour. I don't know about you, but I think your paint scheme is near trademark-levels of established and classic - accordingly I think it'd be a cool choice to include one of the aspects of your scheme that is so characterful. Choice is obviously yours at the end of the day but there's my two cents

Perhaps a nice Ice Blue. That would stick out.

I am a bit partial as you may know. What about some kind of gold or bronze. You have a lovely gray army, a bit of bling may help distinguish him even more.

@IGtR= - Thanks, he should look pretty mint

@LDP - Noted on your vote!

@Ice - I like the idea of the bronze, perhaps a dark bronze/tin highlighted in bronze/gold... the wheels are turning

Update: Base colours applied and washed!

Quick thought on Chapter Master - can you change the Eagle he's in the centre of the chest to a =][= or a plain shield?

@Graven - That is a brilliant idea, on to it now (NotGulliman is primed and Grey'd, but I can make do) and this gives me an idea to make a "Kaldor Draigo" version as well, sword and board

@Zerg - Surprisingly the back banner is from the captain kit, but the top is from the new deathwatch sprues

Update: Layers going on

IceAngel wrote:I must say Knightley, I am very envious of your squiggle ability. I mean, if squiggles were a tactical squad, you'd be the sergeant. If squiggles were an HQ, you'd be the special character. If squiggles were a way of life, you'd be Doctor Phil...

Update: More layers done, I'm doing it a little differently as everything gets a layer but no highlights so the whole thing gets built up. A lot more time consuming imo.

@Graven - Well lets hope it pays off in the long term eh?

@Gits - Thanks bud

Update: Captain done, I used a micron pen on the inside of the cloak, then promptly put my thumb on it when doing the back, which horribly smudged the inside, so I had to wipe that off, re-layer and try again, not a happy camper on that one!
