Remember that miniature you bought and had all the intentions of painting...then you just kept buying more and more? This is my new approach to try and get the madness under control and finally paint up my collection.

I had the idea to reduce my collection to 2000 pt armies and then paint them in 1000 pt increments. This meant that I needed to first make fun/semi-competitive 2000 point lists for all my current unpainted armies - Deathwing, Ravenwing, Blood Angels, Necrons and Tyranids. Then I would paint them in a rotation basis with a reward at the end of each completed 1000 pts. The reward would either be 250 pts of a new army (heresy I know) or a new formation for one of my existing armies.

This is the thread where I will track my progress and use the help of all you dakkaites to keep me on track. Nothing like peer pressure to get your paint flowing.

With all that said, here is the first 1000ish point list I will work on:

Quite the goal you've set for yourself! I can barely finish one squad in a decent timeframe, let alone a 1000 points worth of miniatures...

Those first Deathwing Terminators are a great start, although I can't make out if they're white or bone-coloured (I think the light source is the main issue here), but apart from that, they look great

I actually think this is quite brilliant. It does require a little bit of self discipline though, at least on my part. I think I am going to attempt the same thing but since I play Fantasy I am going to have to make sure these are equally sized chunks of 1k pts.
