CENTURIONS FROM FORNAX - 33MM Sci-fi miniatures

Hi all I saw this on another forum so I thought I'd be a good egg and share here

Indigogo campaign started for some Cylon centurions.

Blurb from the campaign
Fornax Galaxy project aims to pay tribute to each and every one of the creatures of science fiction and fantasy that made me travel (or makes) to strange amazing worlds. I have chosen a galaxy far, far, far away to do it. In Fornax Galaxy creatures are very similar to those we have seen in films, television, comics and books. So, this promises to be a really interesting journey, which I hope brings creatures that make you enjoy.

Fornax Galaxy will not be a game, but rather a melting pot of new models that you could collect, paint and use on any of your favorite games.

At the beginning, Fornax Galaxy will try to be financed with your help by crowdfunding. Therefore, it will be a "galaxy" of participation, where anyone can suggest what could be the next line of miniatures that you would like to see from the depths of the Fornax Galaxy.

7 Euros for one with discounts if you buy multiple Centurions

Personally they don't do it for me, they are great sculpts but too expensive and too tall to fit in with my collection (I'm weird about the heights of my toy soldiers, and Cylons aren't 9-10foot tall)

The most interesting thing for me is that he's looking to doing more not-races from tv, movies etc.

Didn't bother to read all the way through, but really doubt they have the rights to the design. Looks like another 'company' will try and grab the cash from indigogo and then say "sorry guys, the owners of the rights said no, and we used the funds already" all while laughing to the bank.

LOL, Theo your mind is an amazing place, never change.-camkierhi 9/19/13

The original style Cylons, sorry Mk 2 Argonauts, from Crooked Dice look like being more fun.

I'm the sculptor of these ones. I'm not a company, I'm involved in my own indie project. If license owner calls to my door I'll be glad to speak with him (them).

I'm not a "phantom" company or something like that. If somebody want to know me my user on Facebook is Israel Delgado Laborda and Fornax Galaxy project FB page is: https://www.facebook.com/fornaxgalaxy?ref=bookmarks

Anyway, I hope you like this miniatures. I made theses full of joy, and any kind word to my work makes my day

Speaking about Crooked Dice (I love their miniatures ever), these ones are mine (I say to avoid confusion); 28mm and WIP:

These models are waiting for being unlocked on https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/centurions-from-fornax-33mm-sci-fi-miniatures/x/802898

Why does the robot have pants and boots?

The sculpting is clean and deep, which I like, but I just can't see this line ending well. The look is just too similar to an established, moneymaking franchise for it to go unnoticed. At the very least, I'd expect FFG to protect their interests.

some great looking models - I'd be tempted if it was Kickstarter.........

Likely pick some up if they go to retail - especially if they have the human form ones

"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001

Usually the issue with Indiegogo is that it takes out funds immediately, even if it is a Fixed Funding (all or nothing) campaign. If the fund goal isn't reached, then it returns the money. They also allow Flexible Funding campaigns which let you keep the money that is raised, even if the goal isn't met. If I recall the campaign person can also change the campaign from Fixed to Flexible or vice versa during the campaign. The biggest issue though tends to be that it takes money out immediately.

Kickstarter only offers Fixed Funding it will only take the funds out if the goal is met. It is an all or nothing campaign. When the campaign finishes and closes, that is when the funds are taken out of accounts and not before.

While I agree with your assessment of flexible funding campaigns, this can't possibly be true can it? That would be absolutely horrible.

If I can not achieve the goal I'll try with Kickstarter.

I have created a new topic already (if you want to close this one...)

It is not true.

Yeah... I did't want to say anymore about, but I think that can not change my campaign option. Mine is Fixed and money is returned if don't achieve the goal.
