In the Warp, getting trolled by Tactical_Spam, AKA TZEENTCH INCARNATE

How do the twin curses of the Blood Angels' gene-seed manifest in a successor chapter that's fallen to Chaos?
Do they still get the Red Thirst and/or Black Rage, or do those disappear altogether due to their origin within Chaos itself (IIRC, the Thirst and Rage are part of some curse a daemon put on the BA)?

I mean, the Red Thirst would be easy to keep in check, no-one's going to bat an eye if you start gorging on the blood of every unlucky bastard you find (not while the Slaanesh worshippers are around, anyway), but it'd be sort of confusing for a traitor BA to start hallucinating about being Sanguinius, wouldn't it?

Tactical_Spam: Ezra is fighting reality right now.

War Kitten: Vanden, you just taunted the Dank Lord Ezra. Prepare for seven years of fighting reality...

War Kitten: Ezra can steal reality

Kharne the Befriender:Took him seven years but he got it wrangled down

The Red Thirst had appeared before the Blood Angels ever encountered daemons, so we're not actually sure if it is caused by warp mutation or just an inherent flaw in the geneseed. Likewise, we don't really know if the Black Rage was brought about by Chaos or just Sanguinius' unusually strong psychic link to his sons, but we do know that Chaos can manipulate the Black Rage itself. There is a successor chapter called the Blood Drinkers that have actually had their Black Rage manipulated by a greater daemon of Tzeentch. Instead of believing they are Sanguinius during the Siege of Terra, they believe they are their chapter hero Holos during a fight with a daemon. So it is possible that whatever Chaos God they fall to may tailor the Black Rage to better suit their personality, or perhaps it is something only Tzeentch can actually affect.
