Unfortunately this is not something that will be implemented, according to Lego the last time this was asked.
Which is a shame because I too would like to turn off some of the forums I am pretty sure I'm never going to browse.

I sort of see where he's coming from saying that you might miss something if you had certain boards on ignore, but I'd counter by saying I miss a lot more every time I can't be bothered to scroll past the 17 boards for just 3 games I don't play to get to the more interesting stuff below, and just checking out N&R and Discussions.
