Complete surprise to Warwick and me, Battlegroup Barbarossa has been nominated for an award in the Best Historical Supplement category!

Which is nice.

I doubt it, Battlefront's products attract as much interest, players and sales as all their competitors put together as far as I can see.

Is that a comment based on actually comparing the products?

As in you own and have played both games Barbarossa supplements?

Just wondering cos it's always nice to meet and discuss our publications with our gamers. I'd be particularly interested in what you thought of the historical scenarios in BG Barbarossa.

I wonder if there is a substantial difference in marketing value between getting nominated and actually winning the award.

I haven't heard much about these awards in the miniatures gaming context but I have heard of them in the RPG context.

I have the FoW Barbarossa book. It's a pretty standard soft cover FoW book, among the bigger ones. Disappointingly it only has Germans and Soviets, the Axis minors are extra lists on their online army builder. Could have been an amazing hard cover like the Mid War Eastern Front book but it's not and feels incomplete.

I also have seen Battleground Europe and Tank Wars. Tank Wars is a solid supplement and adds a lot of new rules. Battleground Europe is a the best of the three IMO, the extra scenarios and units add a lot for campaign/scenario interested players. I use the similar Ostfront theatre book frequently.

I've not seen Battlegroup Barbarossa to compare.
