Just got a set of these and compared them to the vanilla transparent ones. Seems like they are slightly off / bigger. This would give players a small advantage, wouldnt it?

As you can see the 5" big blast template is slightly bigger in the munitorum version.

The munitorum flamer templare is narrower by quite a margin...

...but has a greater reach. What was GW thinking?

GW is scared of girls. Why do you think they have so much trouble sculpting attractive female models? Because girls have cooties and the staff at GW don't like looking at them for too long because it makes them feel funny in their naughty place.

Meh...
Good eye though.
It is an official template, fancy and expensive, think of it as a win enhancement upgrade!

Another option from GW for you to get that added edge in your game.
The stretchable tape measure will be coming soon...

The templates have varied by a few MM over the years and editions. If you think it’s a big deal, use the larger ones. But honestly, when holding it a few inches over a unit as you lean in to see who’s underneath, will it mater? At some point you just call it 4 guys hit and move on with the game. Or dice off to see if you are clipping the last guy.

Shouldn't you count only the inner, translucid part?

AI & BFG: / BMG: Mr. Freeze, Deathstroke / Battletech: SR, OWA / Fallout Factions: BoS / HGB: Caprice / Malifaux: Arcanists, Guild, Outcasts / MCP: Mutants / SAGA: Ordensstaat / SW Legion: CIS / WWX: Union

They being official i wouldn't bother calling it ban worthy.
not really much of an advantage as well

Now people thinking they use the whole thing as a template instead of just the inside needs to get smacked in the head.

(i have seen some people try to pull that off)

they are actually smaller .... you only count the translucent part that you can see models underneath.

Edit- nm, after re-reading, you are ignoring the border. Personally, if the game comes down to such a minor difference, it was probably a good game anyway. You might as well ban all dice except for perfectly balanced casino dice as well. The difference is simply not enough to worry about in my opinion.

Honestly, i did the same test with my hard plastic green ones and they clicked right in perfectly.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

Ive been using them, despite them being ugly, because I've lost countless sets of normal templates, but never seem to lose that one set.

It got noticed on Monday night. Wtf.

I guess if you pay for the $$ version, its supposed to be stronger?

(Time to get another normal set...)

Yeah, each time GW changed the plastic they were using, the templates wound up a slightly different size.

Not really enough of a difference to be an issue, though.
