Now I have been collecting orks for quite a while, they were my first 40k army at age 12 and are still my favourites now I'm 27
Over that time I have accumulated loads of random stuff and it is all in varying states of ware and some of it so badly painted from when I was a kid I would shudder in embarrassment to actually field it. Recently, while having a clear out I had an idea an eureka moment when I found that the vast majority of it would be salvageable, all those unfinished projects that remain unused, all the random bits and the hundreds of boyz I realised I owned...
I am going to build 1 massive theme army. 25,000 points spread over 10 forces, covering all of the ork clans in one big Waaagh!
Now I wanted to do something within the established lore, but something I don't think others have done, and having recently completed a raven guard project I decided upon Waaagh! Garaghak. It has, thanks to forgeworld, a very fleshed out background, with lots of distinctive characters so it seems perfect for my needs.
So anyway the idea is I am going to bin the unsalvagable pieces of my collection and repurpose, rebuild and repaint the remaining and add new stuff to create a cohesive army while keeping a unique character to each force within it.
I'll be basically trying to build it a force at a time but with a few diversions here and there to keep me sane.

Forces of Waaagh! Garaghak:

Garaghak's Goff Horde - a horde of boyz and stormboyz led by warlord Garaghak himself along with his goff council
Buzzgob's Dread 'Eadz - a dread mob list from imperial armour 8 with all the stomps things led by mek boss Buzzgob
Gurst's Snakebite Braves - a snakebite force with a slight feral leaning... Expect cybores
Logrok's Dakka Boyz - a bad moon force with loads of meks and dakka
Kaptin Badrukk's Krew - 20 flashgitz and Badrukk all mounted in a pirate ship themed battlewagon what's not to like?
Da Deff Korps ov Krog - Kernal Krog and his blood axe death korps boyz
Skulk's Dread Lootaz - a Deff skull force with loads of Lootaz looted tanks and a gargantuan squiggoth
Spud's Scavs - another Deff skull force but mostly grots this time, basically just to use up the inexplicable number of the little buggers I have
Zhadsnark's Freekz - an evil sun biker army led by "da rippa" from forgeworld
Zurgo's Flyboyz - an ork airborne army that I want to use to parody the Deff Skwadron just because I loved that comic.

Anywho I will post a bit more this evening hopefully with a few photos of stuff I have done in the past few weeks in my previously little free time

So most of the information I have for the composition of the Waaagh! comes from the Assault on Kastorel Novem Imperial Armour book and this lovely infographic

Which if you look closely all of my Warbosses for each of the forces in my Waaagh! are ones that took part in Waaagh! Garaghak.

but anywho I mentioned photos
below is my Kaptin Badrukk I completed for a painting completion at my local GW a couple weeks ago

there will be more to come in the next few evenings as I continue to sort out my collection and start conversions

and just as a bit of a teaser, here is the concept for the leader of it all...
presenting Arch Killer Garaghak, Overfiend of Tallarax, Warlord of Forsarr... in doodle form

well that is all for now

I have been working a bit yesterday and this evening on some members of Warboss Logrok's Dakka Boyz these are work in progress because I got a little distracted by doing something else part way through my painting this evening (more on that later) and I'm sorry in advance about my photography that definitely leaves something to be desired.

First Up is Da Boss' battlewagon which needs some final touch ups and the grot rigger on top needs his spanner repairing

The rest of the Bad Moon stuff I was working on this evening was a Dread and Some Killa Kanz all armed with rokkit launchas

Here is Mr Buzzy the deff dread

and with a couple of his smaller mates

Oh and I meantioned I got a little distracted this evening by something else, I had an old project which was to be a snakebite force and will now form the beginning of Gurst's Braves and here is a test model I made this evening for that colour scheme and theme

Anywho that is all for now I will be back with more soon

Thanks all. I have more work to do on the kanz and the dread needs its base repainting along with a load of other little things, I have started the conversion work for Warlord Garaghak but is a while off yet (so far there has been a daemon prince and a forgeworld castelax has gone into making him) will see if I can get some photos of that up next week.

So the completion list for my Bad Moonz force is:

Warboss Logrok in his mega armour - pretty much done except some finishing touches
Painboy - built and base coated
Big Mek in mega armour - built and base coated
3 mek boyz - 2 built but no paint on them yet and other 1 ready to build

8 mega nobz - 2 built and base coated and have the parts to build the other 6

Mob of 30 shoota boyz including nob - built and base coated
Mob of 12 shoota boyz including nob - built and base coated
Mob of 19 grots and a runt herd

Deff dread - built and mostly painted but needs finishing
6 killa kanz - built and in the process of painting
Battlewagon - built and painted, needs some touch ups and the grot rigger needs repairing from where I dropped the thing Thursday

Kill Blasta battle tank - built and in the process of painting, I want to do a little extra conversion work but it's getting there.

There will, hopefully, be some photos of the boyz and the kill Blasta being painted going up from me over the weekend because you know without photos it didn't happen.

Anywho back to work

@ IGtR= thanks loads they are getting there mostly decided to do the bad moons first as I knew the battle damaged yellow would be the biggest pain to paint.

Anywho on to promised updateyness

I didn't get as much done over the weekend as I wanted as Mad Max and Super Dungeon Explore ended up getting in the way but at least it was in a good way.

I mostly just started the painting and a little conversion work on the larger of my bad moons 2 boys squads and also have a couple photos of my Kill Blasta.
Sorry about the photo quality, the lighting is bad, it will be sorted as am getting a nice light box soon which should sort it really well.

First da Boyz

and their nob with some light conversion work

then last a couple WIP shots of my Kill Blasta

the tank is lovely one of my favourite Ork pieces I have but still not as fearsome as...

anywho, that's all for now I'll update more during the week as I get stuff done

Just gonna say sorry in advance, this is going to be a very picture heavy post. mostly updating where I am with my bad moonz along with a couple other "little things" I'm working on.

my bad moonz will have 2 shoota boyz mobz one of 30 models, which will be foot slogging it accompanied by a painboy and 3 mekboyz, and one of 12, which will be ridin' the kill blasta.
These still have a long way to go at the moment but will be doing a load of painting of these boyz tomorrow night.

my last of the 3 mek boyz is still in the form of a sprew which will be recified shortly

then there is warboss logrok who will be accompanied by a mega armoured big mek and 8 mega nobz in his battle wagon, 6 of the mega nobz also still to be built

Then there is 6 killa kanz and a deff dread which are all built but need some repairs and getting close to be finished paint wise

then last a shot of the whole force so far

so have been working on a few side things for this project while doing the bad moonz.
you have seen the nob for the squad of slugger boyz that will form the core of my snakebite force and over the last couple of evenings I have been building the rest of the squad

most of the boyz are currently missing their sluggas and that's because I have ordered some Orky revolvers from spellcrow to give them i slightly more low tech feel as befitting snake bites

I have been working on a couple other oddball bits that I found in the depths of my collection

and last but by no means least I meantioned I had begun converting my warlord, Arch Killa Garaghak himself and lets say he is going to be a rather large fellow (he has the torso of a daemon prince and a trukk engine to power his mega armour)
He still has a long way to go, much modelling putty and platicard and all the tiny rivets that are yet to adorn him and make up his mega armour.

After my post yesterday evening, I had a couple looks at the photos of Warlord Garaghak and thought, he doesn't quite look right. The proportions just seemed wrong and was not happy with the way his face is turning out, so gonna have a bit of a redesign of his head, see below, and gonna stort out the proportions of his body this evening so hopefully photos of that tomorrow.

the proportions that mostly seemed off were his right arm was too long and I think i need to adjust his bionic leg and bulk out the armour on his bionic arm and leg a lot.

anywho below is a doodle of my slightly tweeked design for his head.

I didn't get much done over the weekend due to being sicker than a grot the morning after he found his boss' grog stash. but tomorrow night is hobby night at my local GW so will get a load more painting done then.

what little I did achieve is in the below really badly shot photos, I will sort my photography out soon and have some nice shots up but you'll have to bear with me a little while longer.

A couple very WIP shots of the 2 nobz and painboy that will be in my bad moon force.

Good morning all,

So Thursday night I got some painting done, wasn't as much as I would have liked as some bits took longer than I thought they would. completed one of the nobs for my bad moons and almost finished their painboy too, just needs some final touch ups and the bas to be completed. I also worked on a couple of my snakebite boys getting my weirdboy almost to completion and well one that was the reason i didn;t get much done as I painted it completely in that evening, you'll see that in a bit. my photos are slightly better in these but I still really need a lightbox.

First my power klaw nob for the larger of my two bad moon shoota boyz mobs.

Then next a couple of my snakebite weirdboy almost completed just needs his white skull warpaint

Then my nearly completed painboy just in need of some touchups.

and last Thursday night's time sink "Da Spider" my snakebite Boss Snikrot

Anywho that is all for now peoples, comments and critism are always welcome.

Thanks loads, Zhardsnark needs a little more work until he is done done as want to do a smoke plume coming out of his jet engine and he needs a finl highlight. I am working a bit slowly on Garaghak as it is a lot of sculpting and plasticard of which my skills in those areas are a little lacking so I am learning as I go but having a lot of fun with it so far. Another thing I am looking forward to is Garaghak's battle fortress which sounds like it is basically a skullhamma but there isn't a lot written about it except that he reinforced the armour, after his conquest of Talarax, with metal and masonary from the fortress world's bastions. There may actually be a few more forces I'll want to add in to this in the future but I think whatI have at the moment is more than enough.

Good evening most dakka of internet peoples.

I have been a little remiss with hobby things over the past week but I have got a nice little update for you with some photos full of distractions from doing my bad moons again.

First of all I have been working on my meks and boys for my bad moonz getting on now but is taking a while to get the 40 something boyz in this force painted. I have however got a couple shots of a nearly completed 2 out of my 3 Bad Moon mek boyz.

so the just need a little wash in some places and final highlights and these 2 will be all done, the last mek is a little while off yet.

... and now for my first detour of the evening...
It be Garaghak's de-facto second in command Mek Boss Buzzgob with his lovely new paintjob to get him in his proper goff colour scheme. I had previously painted him up to go in a deffskull army but that is another unfinished project that is being integrated into this and will become the army of Skulk Bluetoof.

and then detour number 2... after a few hours playing the regicide game I decided I wanted my snakebites to have white warpaint like the skull warpaint on the games weirdboy so had a go at adding it to my few snakebite models I have so far.

and finally back on track with the Bad Moonz and some good progress... My Kill Blasta.

Now you may notice my gigashoota is different from the one on the FW website and you would be correct that's because my Kill Blasta started off as a Kill Bursta with a belly gun.
I decided I wanted to change it to go more along with the theme of my bad moon force being Da Dakka Boyz so I raided my bitz box for all the big gunz and baarrels I could find and then made several more with styrene rod and tubing.
Now I am left with the wondrous cluster that you now see before you.

Anywho that is all for now.

I have been informed by higher powers that I am to inform you my girlfriend painted the base colours on my Kill Blasta. Been trying to get her into a little more of my hobby stuff, so basically said she could paint anything of mine she fancied and of course she chose the massive tank, I think she thought I was joking when I said yes she could, as she hadn't painted any other miniatures before other than a pet pig from my super dungeon explore set but think it has gone well so far. She painted the base colours for the metal and yellow all sparkly and clean then I went and majorly dirtied it up spoiling her lovely clean paintjob then prayed checker patterns all over it needs lots of highlighty things and the the hull design blocked in over the brown base colour because it definitely needs a Bad Moon glyph on one of the sides.

Seriously I'll leave you alone for now,

Thanks loads Waaazag buzzgob is pretty much finished now short of some final weathering and a little bit on his base but the kill blasta is WIP as needs highlighting and my checks and glyphs to be painted then its own final touch of weathering. Good evening peoples,

So this evening was hobby evening and yet again I got distracted from doing my bad moonz but this time was with blood axes.
My blood axe force is Da Deff Korps ov Krog. Kernal Krog constructed an armoured brigade on Forsarr from captured Imperial Vehicles, so his force with be a Death Korps styled force with lots of looted vehicles.

This evening I made use of a couple of FW kits I have had laying around for longer than is reasonable and a few spare bits to make this

The crew need a bit of greenstuff work in order for them to fit my theme but it is a nice start and this will carry a unit of Grenadiers (tank bustas) into battle in place of the Death Korps normal Centaur armoured carrier.

Then next I started work on da Kernal 'imself.

I trimmed down the head which will allow me to greenstuff a gas mask over then set about adding a couple plates and onto adapting his power klaw to be more power fist like.

The idea is that he will eventually be in a exaggerated Krieg officer's uniform

anywho, that is all for now hopefully will have more for you over the weekend.

What a sculpt! I love the motion and weight in his cloak. I can almost hear him making the dreaded battle cry of the WMMMGHH! through his gas mask.
My one critique would be on the belt, which I think would benefit from some more texture. With a nice paintjob like you've done on Snikrot and the others, though, that shouldn't be a problem.
