Lost in the Warp

Hi all, so I'm starting up a themed AdMech army, and my goal is to have all elements of the forces from AdMech and Skitarii, to Knights, and later on, Titans, be of the same (or affiliated to the same) Forge World. This is tricky, because in lore, there are very few Forge Worlds which have been documented well enough to include Skitarii color scheme which have a Titan Legion with a color scheme, and known affiliated Knight Worlds. I'm trying to avoid Mars, because that's going to be the same color scheme everyone will likely use.

I've narrowed it down to only Forge World Metalica, which has a Skitarii paint scheme in the 'dex, as well as Legio Metalica, which has a textual description of colors, and Knights in the form of House Raven. What other Forge Worlds do you know of which fit this bill?

Alternatively, I've been leaning more towards Forge World Lucius, since the paint scheme is more "Mars-like" without being indistinguishable from Mars Skitarii, and because I love their lore/backstory. Lucius also happens to be the home of Legio Astorum, whose color scheme I absolutely love, and which has a logo which I think I'd love the challenge of freehanding. However, as far as I know, Lucius doesn't have any documented Knight Worlds affiliated with it. I remember reading from old fluff that sometimes Knight Worlds get "tithed" in the form of Knights that get permanently attached to a Titan Legion. In this case, would it be unreasonable/fluffy to have my Knights painted up in Legio Astorum colors and bear Legio Astorum iconography? (Also, Lucius produces the awesome Lucius-pattern Warhounds, which I prefer so much more design-wise...)

In the spirit of true fluffyness, if they were all part of a unified battlegroup or taghmata for any length of time they would adopt common livery and eventually similar coulor schemes as the main/commanding force.

The ambiguous answer is "there are millions of worlds to choose from so you can choose what you want'

personally i did the former - Ordo Reductor as my main force with taghmata, shattered legion marines a knight household and a warhound; all with a common coulor scheme always including wild rider red, balthasar gold and leadbelcher. leadbelcher basecoat, red for armoured panels and gold for decorative edging and areas that i think will come into contact with lots of heat and/or wear.
I also use warplock bronze where i think something needs to be non-conductive or resistant to compression.

Be sure to post some pictures of your stuff as you go!

House Raven is affiliated with Metallica. But no reason they couldn't be affiliated with Lucius too.

This seems a perfect place to come up with your scheme, basing the symbols and commonalities on how other forge worlds do it.

For the most part, I dislike making up color schemes for my fluffy armies - I think it puts me in a place where if GW releases more info for it, I run the risk of looking "not-to-fluff". I think I decided to go with Lucius. For my Knights, I'm going to paint them up in Legio Astorum colors but leave the shield on the right shoulder with a House Taranis insignia. I was reading up more on their fluff in the 'dex and WD, and there was a line that stated that Taranis knights frequently get attached to titan battlegroups permanently. It's not unrealistic, then, to presume that Taranis Knight(s) may have been attached temporarily for a campaign, and after said campaign formalized their attachment to a permanent one.

A pity about the transfer sheets that GW just released, though. Mars, Metalica and Ryza?!

Come on, I'm going to do Mars, and I seriously doubt everyone else is going to do that (even though I myself am providing that confirmation to you)

In any case, I think this would be a good thread to ask if this is an entirely new mechanicus canon or if forgeworlds always had different colors. Does anyone actually know?

The Skitarii have always had regimental colours.

Really, now? Do tell.

Spoiler:
I'm going to play Cult Mechanicus exclusively but this is still news to me

Most fluff about the Skitarii until recently was about the regiments attached to Titan Legio, which have their own liveries.
