So i d'know how much of this is fact or fiction that hasn't reached me yet or if this is explained later in the series but i've just finished false gods and i'm trying to get my head round chaos's 100,000 or whatever year scheme for corrupting Horus and plunging the galaxy into eternal chaos.

Chaos influenced someone on ancient earth to write a prophecy regarding Horus and the end of the universe.
Chaos gave the emperor the power to create the Primarchs (although the emperor thinks he outsmarted them)
Chaos scattered the primarchs with the idealistic, ambitious one landing on the closest planet to terra ensuring he would be the first and favoured son.
Chaos manipulated the locals into naming him Horus, in line with the prophesy, but after that the emperor recovered him.
The first primarch who entered the Eye of Terror (Lorgar) was manipulated by chaos.
Chaos has the word bearers plant the seeds of the warrior lodge within the Luna Wolves.
When Horus was about to encounter the interex, where there are cursed weapons, chaos ensures the charismatic Erebus is in the right place at the right time.

The rest we know.

This is HUGELY simplified but is there sense in it? Thoughts?

"That's how a Luna Wolf fights."
"If you can't keep up, go and join the Death Guard"
"It had often been said that Space Marines knew no fear, but when Angron charged, he ran"

You're trying to find logic in the machinations of beings that defy logic?

That, my friend, is the path of madness.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Do and discard. At least if ADB is to be believed.

If you have nothing nice to say then say frakking nothing.
