Been flipping through the forums over the last few days, and seeing rumors/statements that KOW is going to be providing tournament approved WHFB equivalent lists. Can anyone confirm this and point me to a source? I've been bitten by the fantasy bug again and would really like to break out the Skaven I have and continue painting them, but with a new WHFB edition coming out, I worry my minis are all going to become invalidated.

Can one of you fine folks provide some insight?

Night Lord XIII Company: 6,600 Points, 12W-4L
Skaven Cheese-stealer Renegade Cult: 2,000 points, 0-0
Warboss Spine Squisha's Ork Warband: 3,000 Points, 1W-3L
Carcharadons Astra: 2000 Points, 11-2
Drukhari: 1250 Points, 2-0

That is absolutely correct! The first lists are undergoing beta testing right now, not-skaven and not-Empire, and all will eventually be consolidated in one supplement book.

I'm on the rules committee for KoW, and confirm that lots and lots of lists are currently being produced.

Not just ones for for "not-GW" armies, either, there will be others, they are intended to cover a wide range of miniatures manufacturers and provide a use for the minis in games.

Each army will have its own background and history and place in the KoW world, it is going to be properly done and properly balanced so that it fits with the existing lore rather than feeling tacked on.

Historical ranges from Wargames Factory and the like, I take it? That's really nice.

A malburian through Napoleonic inspired army, with options for pikes and bayonets along with some steam punky coolness would be a welcomed inclusion for historicals.

What about Brettonians?

You shouldn't be worried about the one bullet with your name on it, Boldric. You should be worried about the ones labelled "to whom it may concern"-from Blackadder goes Forth!

I have done an alpha list for the RC forum, though I haven't yet revised it after feedback.

Starbuck: "Why can't we use the starboard launch bays?"
Engineer: "Because it's a gift shop!"

I hope there's a good Roman list being worked on. It's been years now since I was able to update my not-Roman KoW list, it'd be nice to have someone do the work for me in a community-accepted way (feel free to send a sneak peek my way if so, friendly committee members!).

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

That could be unfortunate.

I wasn't going to say anything...

Well at the least, they'll provide a more legit basis for my own homebrew rules.

This is very good news. I've had good luck combining lists (within the KoW rules) to fit my fantasy bad-guy army, but I very much like having access to more lists.

Well, we've now seen how the RC method gets more feedback and balance than a writer does in isolation (though I still think they had a pathetically small amount of time to balance the lists and rules amendments).
