I have finally acquired all of the gangs (the last two gangs arrived today), and quite a few of the single miniatures. I'm impressed with everything to date.

I believe I have overcome the apprehension I have had on the addition of the horror/legendary creatures to the game. I like the choices you've made in this area, so i plan to add them to my collection. I feel that you may have to add more miniatures to the Indian/Native American/Bloodwolf tribe; the tribe will be outnumbered by the Monsters and the Anglos

I now have to consider my terrain options; I'm actually looking forward to this...

Thanks And yes there will be more of the Bloodwolf tribe and also some and native hired guns too, in time. It's another reason I'm dropping the starter packs down to 3 models, and 2 in a booster pack. It will be cheaper for me to sculpt 2 or 3 minis at a time rather than 5 or more. So I can expand on the current gangs faster.

For the horror stuff I really want to still keep the whole western theme.. like no victorian steampunk (which is cool, just not what I want), no gothicy cathedrals, just straight up western with some extra things that go bump in the night. Trying to mix some traditional monsters with native american stories and take some more modern urban legends like the slender man, but give them a western feel.

At first I was going to do weird west as an all new game, but I already had BWG done and it just seemed better to do it as an expansion in the end.

I was also running with a fantasy-western idea for a while, but decided to shelf it... like hobbit gunslingers and orc wrasslers.. lord of the rings taking place in 1890. But I was afraid it would just be too much and would end up being a ton of expensive sculpts and I would have to start all over from scratch. Though now there's a WWI fantasy game that looked kinda cool

I'm gratified that there will be more Bloodwolf Tribe; I was hesitant to get them since they are a little "over the top".... but on reflection, they should be, to make them stand out and give them character. They also have to represent nearly every Native Tribe West of the Mississippi River.

With the Dockside Drifters and the Tranquility Crew I'll probably male a Dockside as part of my scenery, inspired by the venerable television series "Here Comes the Brides" It was about the founding of Seattle, featured Loggers, Ship Captains, Swindlers, and all manners of western archetypes. Any show that has Bobby Sherman in it can't be that bad....

Don't know that show They look way too wholesome, the must be hiding something.

But I kind of always imagined BWG being on a big river like the mississippi, that goes way south and ends in a swampy bayou. I was planning a cajun gang called the Bayou Boys at one point.

Some day I'll get an artist to make a map of the town and the region. I still want it to be "somewhere out west", so we'll never say what state it's in or where it is exactly.. just west

The show is worth peeking into Mr. Spock's dad, Mark Lenard plays a semi-scrupulous businessman. they even hava a Sasquatch in one episode. It is a bit schlocky but entertaining.

Near Tombstone, Arizona, The Mighty San Pedro River flows.... my then three-year-old daughter was able to wade across it.

I'm not sure if I'd bother with a map; leaving it open-ended, allowing for various terrain layouts..... still though, a map would be kinda nice.

I wondered if it would be feasible to create a character, such as "Dog" from the John Wayne Movie "Big Jake" which was a very loyal attack dog for the John Wayne character in the movie... used to handle his "light work" or assist with a bigger threat.

As a thought, most people tend to think of western gunfights taking place on flat land. a few miles from the famous Tombstone is the mining town of Bisbee, Arizona. Portions of the town are built on the hillsides, where one could conceivably jump onto the roofs of houses that are lower down the hill. The whole city is like a bowl, and the streets can be quite curvy.

As an aside, there is a large purple open pit copper mine just outside of town called The "Lavender Pit"

The name doesn't come from it's hue, the general manager of the mine at its inception, was a Mr. Lavender.

This is exactly how I imagine the town, since a gulch isn't a flat area. I pictured it as a canyony kind of region, surrounded by forests and mountains in the distance, not the dusty desert kind of setting. Lots of mud

Only thing is it's kinda hard to pull off that kind of look on a tabletop game, you'd need a pretty big table. I think your first pic is the best example, with all those stairs. I also pictured lots of more flat roof buildings with makeshift bridges and ladders for folks to climb up and over.

The town of Jerome, Arizona is high on a mountain top, the streets are more like switchbacks.
