If the models match the artwork (which so far all the kits have done), these are all going to sell very well.

Northstar are on to a winner with these plastic kits

Lots of bits I want from that sprue.

And that shovel is the perfect excuse to make endless Janice jokes. RIP Norm MacDonald.

Great looking sprue… I will be wanting a box of those for sure.

Those bodies look surprisingly dynamic - not sure if I like them for archers, but they'll look great wildly swinging the pickaxes, shovels and hammers as unorganized militia, or adventurers in a little rpg/skirmish game.

Good set for a book-accurate Thorin's Company too (none of these silly near-beardless Dwarves they had in the Hobbit movies, ugh). No armour, and I would imagine them carrying some tools around which can be used as improvised weapons.

this does indeed look like a very good generic dwarf set. you want models for some labourers or tavern militia? here you go. they'll make for perfectly serviceable skirmishing archers, too, although maybe that sort of thing is somewhat rare in fantasy wargames.

I'm still annoyed by the lack of musician bits but I'll deal because even with that flaw the Oathmark line is really hitting its stride now.

There's a horn on the top right corner of the sprue, although it will need work to put it into a hand.

Also plenty of cheap sprues floating around with drums and arms on them.

A lantern or candle wouldn't have gone amiss for miner types, but it's a pretty packed sprue and, as above, there are plenty of options out there.

Very useful set, although I'm also a fan of the metal dwarf Militia by Conqueror and Thistle & Rose (all Colin Patten sculpts).

Just a heads up, Miniature market has a sitewide (except GW and pre-orders) 10% sale because of Gencon going on right now. If you have been eyeing some of these kits then heres a chance to grab them a little cheaper state side.

Human Heavy is given but the rest is doubtful because so far they are doing only ones that have stats already in the books. It may change only when the Heavy Cavalry will be introduced for other races in one of the future books.

I think it seems obvious that they'll do elf cavalry at some point. Dwarf cavalry and goblin heavy cavalry are a little less obvious because they're not quite as staple to fantasy in general but it's hardly completely wild.

Hmm. Dwarf militia are OK? I like that they seem to be using tools as weapons.

I'd like to see a bit more armour though. At least the occasional simple round helmet. Padded armour on some of them. Militia shouldn't be just cannon fodder, and at least in my head, every dwarf who might have to serve in the militia will at least attempt to scrounge or scavenge or make some very basic armour, even if they don't have high-end kit or full coverage.

Based on all the previous releases, they'll be compadible with the armored dwarves already out so you can easily mix the heads or bodies to make some of them a bit more military minded. All of the kits so far have had plenty of extras, especially heads and weapons

Plus i think these hit a niche that you do not see very often and that is minimally armored dwarves. The next closest would be the fire dwarves from AOS and they are almost naked

They've likely got cloth armour and maybe even a small chainmail shirt underneath their coats.

I like the option of having unarmored Dwarves. An angry Dwarven civilian mob for more than just Oathmark. You can always kitbash with the other sets for more armor.

Those militia Dwarves look fantastic, really is a Dwarf model that is not widely produced.

With their stellar Oathmark range and versatile Frostgrave kits, Northstar seem to be on a very prosperous trajectory. They have over the years started to become my go to company for plastic fantasy kits.

The objective of the game is to win. The point of the game is to have fun. The two should never be confused.

I thought there were only four first, but then some of the painted pictures revealed that one of the heads simply has a hood pulled up over the helmet. That's good enough for me, though.

EDIT: Actually, wait, there are six helmeted heads on the sprue because the champion head is an unhooded helmet with little horns on it. So zero problems with helmets.
