Looks fantastic and is confirmation that the Knight will now be available to everyone!

We're along way from that, though I did finish up the Core Quest book with my family last night and my kids are itching for more!

I figured I'd have a quick check on Tseuquest for a laugh

There was an update on the 23rd of June but I've no record of getting it by email so it looks like they've stopped direct contact

https://tseuquest.com/en/ok-but-when-will-it-be-released

TL: DR - Spanish version to ship in September/October other languages by Christmas

Looking at Darkstone the case was up in court on the 7th of June when the prosecution presented the indictment and are seeking to take the criminal process to the next phase. The defendant then had 10 business days after notification to respond failure to do so means it proceeds to trial. Instead they announced that the Spanish version would begin shipping sometime in September/October. Basically a stalling tactic by Dionisio to delay the prosecution. He may well try to ship a few Spanish versions by September/October so he can say look I tried but I think the prosecution will proceed as he's tried this before and still nothing has shipped.

Man I’m glad I cancelled my pledge.

I’m far from a man that is penny wise. And I’ve generally little problem spending money on frivolous amusements. But I still object to coughing up and getting nothing.

And if the Backer Pledges are made and ready? Y U No Sned?

I love the additions we're getting, but I'm secretly afraid we're going to end up buried in add-ons. At some point, I'm going to have to stop - I just don't have the space for endless additions to the game.

That pretty much sums up my feelings too; I think I have enough add-on content to last me until retirement! Each one is pretty cool though.

This is usually my approach to games as well but Ithink I'm going near-completionist for HQ. Not going to try to hunt down the Ltd Ed Knight, but I'm going to try to get everything that comes out in regular release.

Good news in that case, the knight comes in the Dread Moon expansion, so you can get it that way without the scalper price.

Ye Olde Inn is great, but I think their issue is there's already too much content for them to finish.

I'm in the same boat as Eilif, gonna collect all the official stuff except the limited edition packs. I'm not at all fussed about the mat & dice set from Gencon, it's just dice. The storage space issue is real, I've already removed everything from the boxes into Feldher foam trays, but that won't fit the new Dread Moon stuff, let alone the new expansions that were leaked

Looking forward to see how Avalon Hill releases the previously Mythic-only quest books. I already own a Mythic Tier, but regular releases means they'll be added to the App and released as official PDFs in case anything happens to my original books.

If I ever get through all the expansions I have, I'll look into Ye Olde Inn and some of the other great fan content. I fully expect that even as I collect-it-all I may never get through all the official material. As a family we just finished the Main Quest Book and the bridge mission between Kellar's Keep, so there's a long way to go.

Yep, I was very glad to see that. I think it's a nice gesture to fans. IIRC, they owned up to their mistake of making it such a limited release.

The last thing I went completionist for was Imperial Assault. That was a whole other level of crazy as far as how much there was to collect and I have only ever played one game of it! HQ seems much more manageable in terms of frequency of releases, much better value, and more likely to get played.

Nostalgia definitely got me with the first couple releases, but I was shocked by how basic the actual gameplay is. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug, and as an adult now, my wife and I just got bored half-way through the first expansion.

In my memory, this game was what OG Warhammer Quest, or Shadows of Brimstone actually is. I loved the walk down memory lane, but can't imagine wanting three more boxes of the stuff.

Is this a good place to talk about the ongoing revelations about the unauthorized Hero Quest 25th anniversary edition that has now reached its own 10th anniversary without delivering?

A former employee has been answering questions frankly in a Spanish forum, and I think that's worth sharing.

But should that be in another thread?

The old thread got locked and this is the replacement thread, so while the focus is on the Avalon Hill HQ I've posted Tuesquest news here from time to time without issue or complaint there's still a few backers around (myself included) that like to get updates when possible

I can see the thread you mean on Darkstone - https://www.darkstone.es/heroquest-25-aniversario/preguntas-y-respuestas-a-un-ex-empleado-de-gamezone/

I'd post instead or also on BGG!

Amazon has Keller's Keep and Witch Lord for $15 each. IIRC, These sets only had more undead and greenskin mini's that are in the base game?

The miniatures are the same as the base game, yes. They also include some extra cards and tiles, and a couple of fancy doors, specific to the expansion missions

Agreed that hq is very basic especially if you have/play brimstone. One thing we like is the simplicity of the characters and gear. And the baddies are fairly straightforward.

I love brimstone but it gets downright spreadsheet time with darkstone, mutations, equipment in every slot and monsters that we have been fighting for six turns only to suddenly remember they cause start of the turn terror, dread, angst, fear, horror and general misgivings checks.

Yeah, this is where Ye Olde Inn really helps. Lots of resources there for a little deeper experience. At some point, you wonder if you should just be doing D&D (maybe with one of those GM-less oracles).

I have to say that the hq app is what sold me on the game. And I usually don’t like them. It makes solo possible and also makes the dm job either unnecessary if you want to play or way easier if you just want to dm.

If you have dice, you can pretty much play the game without the board if you wanted. It’s an awfully simple game compared to brimstone but sometimes you want something lighter

There's also Advanced Heroquest, which is a completely different game system but included rules for all the base Heroquest monsters and how to run the original quests. Rules are pretty easy to find online including a few fan renditions that add even more. It's basically one step below Warhammer Quest in terms of complexity but without needing to print out hundreds of cards and individual hero statcards, rulebooks and tokens

Advanced HQ ftw! Also, the original set's mini's sucked (oboy, 20 skaven of the same sculpt and they want you to buy the unique sculpts) so you're not missing anything from the physical game.

Also, CSI has some HQ expansions, Kellar's Keep, Witch Lord, at $17.

Well blinking flip.

Your ancestors come from a society, but so far as records go didn’t profit off of, that subjugated a humongous part of the world.

And now I can’t even get Lovely Shiny Things.
