I read in some of the fluff that some of the final tests to become a daemon prince a lord must fight with a daemonic legion for a while is this a viable excuse to take some chaos marines, tribal chaos warriors, cultist and arm them with melee weapons to count them as bloodletters?
That said, daemons are inherently mutable in form. There's absolutely no reason to not field a bunch of other models, give them suitably nasty claymore, cover them in khorne art and call them bloodletters.
