Vin Diesel has worn many hats in his career from action superstar to voice over actor. But perhaps his most notable role has been that of serial studio announcement ruiner.
After telegraphing his involvement with Marvel Studios long before he voice Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy and making a rolling news feed of his Facebook page in the buildup to Riddick, the actor yesterday dropped a notice that if real may mark his greatest shadow announcement ever.
As part of the build up to the limited theatrical run of director Brad Bird’s remastered The Iron Giant (where he voiced the titular man of steel), Diesel mentioned the following with the latest recut trailer on his Facebook page. “I have been very lucky to have played so many interesting characters…one of the first and one of my favorites is…the Iron Giant,” he said. “P.s. Don’t be surprised when you hear WB announce the sequel.”
One of my favorite movies of my childhood, but I do hope they don't make a mockery of it with a failed sequel. Of course, I am all for a sequel, but they better not mess it up.

The movie IRON GIANT and the book by Ted Hughes (Iron Man) are VERY different.
