Hello there!

Since I recently started painting and wargaming again I thought I would share some of my projects. I am no great painter, I painted before as a hobby but slowly winded down and sold off most of my wargaming stuff. Now that my son is getting into wargaming I decided to pick up my paints again and get some stuff ready so we can play some different games. My main goal getting back into painting was to pick up my speed. I would spend a 3-4 hours on each minature before so I decided to try to speed up and keep it under an hour. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. I am also trying to do at least one miniature a day.

My work station!

I have to take everything out of a box and pack everything back up everytime I paint, I have to many bad animals to leave everything all the time.

Snake and the boys

Got these from a trade from another Dakka member, these are for the game This Is Not A Test, assuming we end up liking it.

Post Apoc Centurion

First of a few I have planned. Still a WIP.

Thanks guy! ^

Heres a crappy WIP pic of some Commissars.

Heres another!

One of the problems Ive had over the past few days is time. Since I work mostly overnight I dont like painting on days when I get home because Im pretty tired.

New project! Got these from a trade through the swap shop. They look like they might be a giant pain to put together but we will see, as far as cool factor goes they are really awesome. That might be just because I played Arkham Knight a few days ago.

Also working on another legion guy for my post apoc stuff. More on the way soon!

So here is another post apoc legion guy Ive been working on, Im just missing Warlord Romans with Bolt Action bits I have left over.

Like I stated above I am not a great painter, but I think Im a much better painter then I am a photographer so Ive tried working on my pictures, and I think these next few are much better then everything Ive taken pictures of before.

This guy is what brought be back into the hobby, I thought it was an awesome miniature, but since its the first thing I painted after such a long break there are things that I could improve on, maybe once I finish up some other projects.

This is from the Court of Owls set from the Batman Miniatures game. What a nightmare these guys were to put together and clean up, I have dealt with flash before but I havent had much with metal so it was a learning process.

Heres a better picture of one of my post apoc punk guys. I really like this figure and I think its one of my better ones. I tried to do more highlighting then I usually do and started doing eyes again instead of just washing the face.

Last but not least, heres my next miniature that Im working on!

You will also notice an actual desk in that picture, I decided I needed a place to actually work without having to pack up everytime.

Sorry, I havent updated anything in a week or so. Been busy with work and have been feeling under the weather the past few days. I managed to take this pic of another character for our post apocalyptic shenanigans. The pic isnt as clear as my last few but Im way too lightheaded to spend anymore time on it.

Agitated Max

I need to do soemthing with the face, it has a light wash on it but I feel like the sculpt is a little soft so Ill have to do soemthing to it. I also need to add a bush or something to the base, i dont like how the debris is sitting at the moment.

Good news, I have a big order (at least compared to what I usually order) coming this week of some Warhammer Empire/Could be Mordheim stuff. Ill be sure to post that up when I get it and will try to take some actual WIP pics.

The post-apoc Roman with the stop sign for a shield made me chuckle.

I wanted the post apoc stuff to be a little silly, thats why I threw that Fallout NV/Monty Python reference onto my ruined building! I dont think anyone else has noticed yet but I crack myself up and thats all that matters right??

I see it now. I glanced over it when I looked the first time. Haha, nice touch. And yes, what matters is that you like it.

Well I got the package I have been waiting for yesterday but since I worked last night I wasnt able to check it out until I got home this morning. I am pretty excited as its something completely new to me and I will be able to actually show WIP stuff. So here we go!

Yes, its hard to tell what all that is. Ive decided to make a Mordheim/AoS Empire band. My inspiration for this is from the Vermintide game coming out soon, when I watched the trailers for it I thought it would be really cool to have a band of survivors in a war torn city taken over by skaven. I then thought of modeling the guys after some buddies of mine for giggles, and then threw that right out the window when I saw the knights panther helmets. Anyway, I have a knight, swordsman, two spearmen, crossbowman, and a greatsword.

I bought extra bits for these guys as I wanted them to look sort of elite. This is the first guy I completed, I think he was a halbred guy. I added some extra arm bits and a panther helmet.

Heres a WIP shot of a few other guys. I really like the pose of the greatsword guy.

So assuming I get some sleep today I am hoping to get up and continue working on these guys, I also have a couple other projects I may jump too but we will see.

^ Hey thanks!

Well I ended up playing a few games of AoS and me and a few friends have decided to start playing that, so once I get my army everything here will prety much be exclusively AoS for awhile. But until then here is a WIP pic of my empire band, he had a bit of an accident when I dropped himand his head fell off so I wont be able to finish him up until later.

I bought a couple chaos guys to do test paint jobs on. One with blood splattered everywhere and one without. Since my light just broke as I was taking pics I have one and not the other for now.

Well it's been almost a year but I have time to paint again finally! Most of my old projects were put on hold and I haven't been able to start up again, but with the release of the new deathwatch stuff I'm back to painting. I have a couple friends buying the start collecting boxes so I'm starting a AM army and of course Deathwatch.

Here's my crappy pic! Still deciding on how I want to finish the silver shoulder pads, and needs to be based, but since my power is out and all I have is my phone I figured I would put up the crappy pic I have.

New stuff, a few friends and myself have started 30k! Four of us have stated new armies, and I chose World Eaters! I still need to decide how to base everything but here's what I got so far!

Some cool stuff in this thread. Don't know why it's not getting more love.

Really digging the post Apoc stuff, love the punks and the centurion with the stop sign.

World Eater are looking great, really like that bloody hand print.

^ Thanks a lot!

So I painted this guy up in between working on my HH stuff, this is probably one of my favorite miniatures, this is my third I've done and still have another in the bits box.

One of these days I'll make a photo booth thing, pictures are kinda bad but it shows off the simple conversion.

Okay so I made a light box with random junk I had laying around the house, playing around with lighting now, will eventually use a real camera instead of my phone as well. Pics always look great on my phone until I see them on the computer. More blurry then I realized.

Heres some retaken photos with a light box.

Those lines on the back of his coat are grey highlights, it looks like light from my lamp which I guess is kind of the point.

I havent used any type of transfers before so if I see something I want to paint I just do it free hand the best I can.

These are my first attempts at OSL on the eyes and the first time Ive tried edge highlighting.

Alright, Ill be back with new projects and hopefully better pics!

Did this today, was really fun to paint. Added some pva glued to the base and let it dry so I would have a few raised areas for waves. My painting is all over the place which is why I can't ever get any projects done! Did notice I forgot his belt so I'll have to decide what color to paint it and take another pic.
