Similar to Fight the Borg, here is a new game.

You are commanding a Federation fleet of about 600 ships and the Dominion has sent a fleet of 1254 ships to stop you (Similar to Operation Return).

Jem'hadar attack ships and battle cruisers fire on your regular ships, Cardassian ships fire on your attack fighters.

Here is an example.

Poster 1: *jem'hadar attack ship fires on {insert class of ship here}*

Poster 2: *returns fire and routes more power to shields*

Available classes of ships for the Federation (google 'star trek Galaxy class starship' if you want to know what a galaxy class ship is) :

Galaxy Class

Miranda Class

Defiant Class

Intrepid Class

attack fighters

If you need rules clarification, let me know, or make up your own. Have fun!

Since it's my thread, I'll go first.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm picking up a large Dominion fleet, bearing 004 mark 009.

How large?

1254 ships.

On screen. Maximum Magnification.

*attack fighters go in, targeting only the Cardassian ships*

Suddenly a wormhole opens up from nowhere. As the Federation and Dominion send ships to probe, suddenly this appears.

Without warning, all the ships open fire on both the Dominion and the Federation. Everyone dies. All the strange ships quietly retreat back into the wormhole.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Their chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise.... our two weapons are fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency.... Our three weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope.... Our four...no... amongst our weapons.... amongst our weaponry...are such elements as fear, surprise.... I'll come in again.

This thread actually raises a question that's been asked on several websites: Where were the Intrepid class starships during the Dominion War? Why didn't the Federation roll its fancy new ships out, and instead it relied on 100 year old designs like the Excelsior and Miranda?

I wonder if it's like Britain in the second Gulf War. It's spent billions on squadrons of Typhoons, but although it deployed quite a few of them, it didn't actually use them because it was scared to lose any - as I understand it, the Tornadoes did all the attacking in the early days.

Maybe Starfleet couldn't afford to lose its Novas, Intrepids, Centaurs etc, but it could stand to lose a few dozen Kirk-era types.
